to accidentally fall asleep and not go back?

In the midst of a massive family wedding.

I've 'popped' home (40 minute drive either way) to feed the dogs.

I'm an antisocial bugger and I'm feeling weary.

If I go back I can get sloshed on free wine.

What should I do?

Go back! Sleep tomorrow ......

MooncupGoddess · 08/03/2014 18:26

I'd probably feel the same... but unless you're 100% sure you won't be missed you should probably go back. I bet you'll enjoy it when you get there.

Fletcherl · 08/03/2014 18:26

Sleep on, but does any one else need you yo collect them from the party?

squoosh · 08/03/2014 18:26

Go back!

QwertyBird · 08/03/2014 18:26

Oh yes, free wine gets my vote!

WaitMonkey · 08/03/2014 18:27

I'd go back. There's free wine. Grin

AtYourCervix · 08/03/2014 18:27

Taxi back is booked. I've left the H and Ds there..

It's lovely and quiet here. Just me and the dogs......

I could take off my rubber pants and put my pyjamas on.

I have promised to take something back for D2 though. And the present I forgot earlier.

Damn.

You have got to be kidding, right?
How incredibly rude.
You leave wedding. Saying you're nipping home to feed dogs.
And you don't go back?
I would find this truely insulting.

pancakedayiscoming · 08/03/2014 18:32

You have my sympathy. Stay home if you can get away with it, you went to the first bit, just text your dh to let him know!

squoosh · 08/03/2014 18:32

It is a bit rude to not go back.

Silvercatowner · 08/03/2014 18:32

Weddings are grim. No-one will notice. Enjoy the peace.

AtYourCervix · 08/03/2014 18:33

Of course it's rude.

But it's what I quite fancy doing.

OP posts:
squoosh · 08/03/2014 18:34

Well they why ask?

squoosh · 08/03/2014 18:34

then

AtYourCervix · 08/03/2014 18:34

I'm going.

If I have a hangover tomorrow it'll be all your fault.

OP posts:
Oblomov · 08/03/2014 18:35

Weddings are grim? Then why go? I love weddings.

Silvercatowner · 08/03/2014 18:39

Oblomov - not my dilemma. Weddings (IMHE) ARE grim. I avoid whenever possible.

AtYourCervix · 09/03/2014 01:13

I'm back.

5 hours of intensive dancing. I'm not going to be able towalk tomorrow.

And didn't you knacker your back a few days ago Cervix

You'll need complete bed rest Smile

(I'm not really a Dr but nevermind)

AgentZigzag · 09/03/2014 01:18

A couple of friends did this at our wedding, but I don't hold it against them because I'm with Silver and think weddings are grim affairs Grin

What's the shape of a wedding disco these days? Are they still cheesy? (to appeal to everyone)

BrianTheMole · 09/03/2014 01:20

Good luck op. In fairness, at my wedding, the only person I would have noticed didn't come back was my husband, you could always pretend you went back. 99.9 percent chance of getting away with it Wink

NoodleOodle · 09/03/2014 01:43

I have actually honestly fallen asleep in between the bits of one wedding I was invited to, to be awoken by a phone call from the bride asking where I was. Fortunately my makeup hadn't smudged much and it was only a 25min drive so I made it back in time to be forgiven.
