I know it's not on. I do. But all the same I can't help chuckling every time it's read out on the bbc news and picture this teacher just snapping.

Please don't all be mean to me, I'm new!!

A few posts would explain my French teacher in year 7/first year high school. He was actually French, and older man and although we all adored him he was scary as fuck! The posts describing discipline in French schools make sense to me.

this happened in my school less than 15 years ago.that headteacher was a bully of the highest order and I ended up moving schools in the end as he took against me.....he did this to all chatty kids...including one little boy with special needs and severe asthama in my class when we were 6.he un surprisingly had an asthma attack and was very very distressed by it...I remember being terrified he was going to die....and he was to afraid to take off the tape til he told he could so was making a horrible noise trying to get air through his nose.....

terrible idea...funny threat but if your reduced to doing it your class discipline has failed spectacularly.

I'm local too. DH knows Ian Bradbury and I've asked him to ask where he gets the sellotape from Grin.
