Supposed to be going to the pub quiz in about twenty minutes. DS 2.2 has just fallen back onto a bit of concrete floor and banged his head. He has a bump about an inch long. He seems fine. I'm supposed to be leaving him with my friends DH who will also have their toddler. Would you?

Yes. He can phone you if he needs you.

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 04/03/2014 17:31

As it's an adult you're leaving him with I'd be fine with that, you can always pop back if he's off colour later

Glitteryconverse · 04/03/2014 17:31

No I wouldn't because I would be worried and want to be keeping an eye on him myself. That doesn't mean I think you would be wrong to leave him, just I personally wouldn't

girliefriend · 04/03/2014 17:32

hmm if he seems fine and the pub is two mins away and the babysitter is sensible enough to notice if anything is wrong then maybe...

HarderToKidnap · 04/03/2014 17:32

Would you not be a pissed off that your friend was dropping her toddler off with a bump on his head?

If he seems fine and your not far away i think its ok to go.

mumofboyo · 04/03/2014 17:34

I would. You dh would know what to do in case of emergency and has your number so can contact you if needed.

Dd fell on the stairs on Saturday afternoon but was fine so we still took her to my mum's that night. Ds fell on the ramp going into nursery yesterday and cut his lip/nose but was fine when he calmed down so we left him with nursery. They're with adults who know what to do in case of an emergency and are able to get in touch with us so we're able to get to them quickly if needed.

Brices · 04/03/2014 17:35

Yes I'd go

StarGazeyPond · 04/03/2014 17:36

Yes of course - presumably the DH is quite capable of making a phone call to you if your DC becomes unwell.

Crowler · 04/03/2014 17:38

Yes.

mrsjay · 04/03/2014 17:38

yes of course i am assuming it is not just now a bump and the toddler is fine in themselves I assume that the babysitter is capable of getting hold of the parents

mrsjay · 04/03/2014 17:39

and if your son was going to have any trauma with the bump it would happen by now

HeartShapedBox · 04/03/2014 17:45

I wouldn't, but then I'm paranoid about head injuries.

christmashope · 04/03/2014 17:46

I wouldn't buy again that's because I'm also paranoid about head injuries

ukatlast · 04/03/2014 17:48

No wouldn't go.

KinderBoris · 04/03/2014 17:51

Your friend's husband's eyes and ability to dial a phone are no worse than yours so yes, go, it will be fine!

HarderToKidnap · 04/03/2014 17:52

OK I'm going! Phoned my friend and she told me he'd be fine. Wish me luck at quiz!

OP posts:
FabBakerGirl · 04/03/2014 17:52

I wouldn't go as it isn't worth the risk of something happening and a person who doesn't know my child as well as me missing it.

Doesn't matter what we think though, it was what you are happy with once you have thought through all scenarios as much as possible.

TheKnightsThatSayNee · 04/03/2014 17:56

Good luck with the quiz. I'd go.

Doingakatereddy · 04/03/2014 17:59

No, I wouldn't bloody go. Your child's hurt themselves and would I expect prefer cuddles off you.

But by all means go to the pub if you think would make your child feel better

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 04/03/2014 18:09

The child is totally fine. Overreacting much?

HarderToKidnap · 04/03/2014 18:15

I don't cuddle my child, doinga, I just keave him screaming if he's upset and wants me.

grobagsforever · 04/03/2014 18:17

Jeepers it's a tot with a head bump. I assume you all bubble wrap your kids? You go and enjoy OP!

frogslegs35 · 04/03/2014 18:20

Personally I wouldn't but don't really see a big problem if he's ok.
The adult looking after him is capable of looking out for any sign of concussion and calling you if necessary.
