to think Little Mix should be hanged, drawn and quartered?

They've covered Word Up by Cameo.

For Sport Relief.

Just as I was starting to like the morning radio again.

I have a 50-minute drive from DP's house to work when I stay there, and as it's a rural town, the drive involves dodging walking buses (full of kids that can't actually walk properly), snooty middle-aged retirees calling themselves "country folk" (think Deliverance, but with less banjos and more inbreeding) who just waltz in to my path, and the occasional (read: constant barrage of) incompetent who doesn't know their mini-roundabout from their elbow. My last bastion of sanity has been utterly violated by this generic pop twaddlification of a fairly inoffensive 90s song.

WIBU to descend upon this normally rather good girl group, wielding a samurai sword Kill-Bill style, to make them atone for their crimes against music? And do you think Dappy's horse would accompany me in to battle?

Word Up is about as classic as One Direction's Best Song Ever.

Stopmithering · 26/02/2014 14:32

My tip - Radio 4

PandaFeet · 26/02/2014 14:33

I get that this is a light hearted post but I think LaGuradia's dig about the weight of Jesse is uncalled for.

I agree.

KatnipEvergreen · 26/02/2014 14:33

I listen to Radio 4 but also like a fair bit of modern pop, rock and indie music.

Ubik1 · 26/02/2014 14:35

Do you think LaGuradia should have put (lighthearted) in little brackets to prepare you for the potential offence?

captainmummy · 26/02/2014 14:36

I always see One Direction as New Direction (say it fast Grin )

bbcessex · 26/02/2014 14:41

I also think YABVU..

Little Mix are one of the few girl groups appealing to my DD that (to me), appear to be able to

a: hold a tune
b: wear clothes
c: eat a meal once in a while..

As tweenie role models go, that's my boxes ticked...

(do love (the memories!) of a red cod piece though!)

Commenting on a womans weight and/or figure in a negative way can never be lighthearted.

LaGuardia - I'll bite..

naff off with your 'the chunky one'... I for one love the normality of Little Mix, and I bet 'the chunky one' is probably a good size 10 in real life. If she's chunky, no *uckin hope for the rest of us....
