men, out in public wearing jogging bottoms

is it not the male equivalent of a woman going out without a bra?

dh wears joggers around the house, but he wouldn't go out in them, and he puts jeans on if we have visitors, but the number of men out in them seems to be increasing. am i just being a prude?

put it away or at least wear more supportive underwear!

op how old are you?

How do you know they haven't got boxers on under them or are you a strictly underpants girl?

They might find the comfy,
They might wear them as they have an injury and jeans might be too tight.
They might wear them to work (like most of my staff - sports industry)

Your dh changes when you have visitors? You both sound terribly up tight!

BatmanLovesRobins

At least he has a handsome face.

Hmm It's not the jogging bottoms themselves though is it? Isn't it the underwear that's an issue?

OnlyLovers · 26/02/2014 11:05

Batman, I knew someone would come out of the woodwork and post that Grin am quite surprised it wasn't me actually

Impatientismymiddlename · 26/02/2014 11:05

It doesn't bother me as long as the man is wearing well fitting undergarments and his jogging bottoms are clean and not totally scruffy looking. There are plenty of women who wear ill fitting leggings with unsuitable underwear or see through leggings so you can see their skanky knickers underneath; ill fitting jog pants are just the equivalent.
I'm sure some men like jog pants because they are comfy just like some women like leggings because they are comfy. Just make sure that they are decent quality, fit properly and are clean.

2rebecca · 26/02/2014 11:05

I agree that I've not seen joggers with an open fly before and a quick look at the adidas website suggests these aren't joggers but long johns so more like going out just in your bra rather than going out without your bra..

nipersvest · 26/02/2014 11:05

"But nipersvest that pic isn't of joggers...there's an opening at the front, they look like the Unqlo long johns I got for the ds's!" - i know, but the pic is outside, whatever they are he's out in public wearing them, it's just the closest example i could find with a quick bit of googling.

yep, totally it's more to do with what they wear underneath, which is why my op says 'supportive underwear. ladies, as much as i'd like to spend the morning googling images of mens crotches Wink, back to work i go!

Why is Tom Hiddleston waving his tackle around??

itshardthinkingofanickname · 26/02/2014 11:08

Well it's a good thing women don't go round wearing virtually nothing on top and revealing their assets to the world, is it Grin

Cigarettesandsmirnoff · 26/02/2014 11:11

That pic is of under garments.

AWUGAAWUGAlookoutitsaMAN · 26/02/2014 11:12

itshardthinking
It is really not a good thing, in my considered opinion. I should probably be running for my life about now, though.

OnlyLovers · 26/02/2014 11:13

Alibaba, ours is not to reason why, just to enjoy Grin

OnlyLovers · 26/02/2014 11:14

itshardthinking, Joggers Syndrome is more akin to a camel toe than a cleavage, no? Being all about the genitals...

Joules68 · 26/02/2014 11:18

How ridiculous

I see loads of men in them in my line of work..... They are usually pain splattered as they are WORKMEN. That's what they wear to do their job in

bodybooboo · 26/02/2014 11:23

free ranging tackle marvellous. Grin

BatmanLovesRobins · 26/02/2014 11:26

If I could like your post OnlyLovers, I would Grin

Yes - it is the the camel toe equivalent, isn't it? I'd hate to be a bloke and have all that spare flesh swinging about, looking ugly...

nipersvest · 26/02/2014 11:28

male camel toe is called 'moose knuckle' apparently

OP posts:
OnlyLovers · 26/02/2014 11:29

'moose knuckle' Grin [vom]

gamerchick · 26/02/2014 11:31

I don't know many people who don't wear sportswear as standard. Who gives a toss.. get a grip.

I howled at getting changed for visitors.. christ Grin

nipersvest · 26/02/2014 11:34

OP posts:
Impatientismymiddlename · 26/02/2014 11:35

Gamerchick: Maybe they have the queen visiting on a weekly basis Grin.

nipersvest · 26/02/2014 11:36

dh when we have visitors

OP posts:
Fullpleatherjacket · 26/02/2014 11:36

I'm not sure we can blame a particular style of stride for the problem.

Terry Wogan managed the most spectacular moose knuckle without the help of joggers after all Grin

LessMissAbs · 26/02/2014 11:47

YANBU they're scuffy. I run pretty seriously, and I've never known a serious male runner to wear jogging bottoms for running. They either wear tracksters, or running tights. Maybe they did when they were first brought out, but the impression I get is that its men with an expanding waistline who find normal trousers uncomfortable that wear them.
