To think there is nothing to be outraged about in this wedding invite

Invitation for a wedding

  • came to just me and DP but follow up note about kids says they haven't invited them because they are limited on numbers, but if that means we can't go then speak to them
  • no gift list in the invite. Website says they really don't want gifts but if we feel we need to do something then vouchers
  • they are asking for dietary requirements, music we'd like to hear and co-ordinations lift shares
  • they have given suggestions for accomodation across a range of prices.

There is nothing for me to be pissed off about or mock! That's not very public spirited of them, is it?

Drinks provided through the day and meal and bar in the evening is subsidised, so no chance to complain there either!

I think it may be the most reasonable wedding ever!

Now see setting up a website for a day event seems OTT to me. Do people actually do that.

Tehnically they have stilil asked for vouchers without waiting to be asked what they would like.

Rest sounds fine though.

Nanny0gg · 22/02/2014 16:36

Do they not know their invitation has to be able to be scrutinised/criticised/pulled apart/laughed at on Mumsnet?

How very, very rude of them to send something so inoffensive!

winklewoman · 22/02/2014 16:38

Any hope of them asking you to make the cake, provide and do the flowers all for free then un-invite you?

andadietcoke · 22/02/2014 16:44

Gutted. I received a similarly inoffensive invitation recently. Very disappointing. However, I suspect my sister's forthcoming invitation to the UK reception for her Greek wedding will make up for it many (many) times over.

Happymummyofone check out
getting married.co.uk

I think its a good idea!

HermioneWeasley · 22/02/2014 17:16

The website is brilliant - everything you could possibly need to know about the wedding in one place

I shall see if I can engineer some outrage.

Well we can only hope that the wedding is a complete shambles or even the whole thing doesn't happen because someone is having a affair.

expatinscotland · 22/02/2014 17:32

Who is going to pay for honeymoon?! Shock

nooka · 22/02/2014 17:33

I just could help but giggle about Worra's twerking suggestion. That would be sooo bad Grin

SirChenjin · 22/02/2014 17:35

It obviously won't last

HappyMummyOfOne · 22/02/2014 17:40

Crashbang, omg its like facebook! Still not seeing the need for one though. Surely people just send the invite and people rsvp and can look up directions, hotels etc for themselves.

Seems very self centred and a bit too much "look at us".

I know expat, a rare couple nowadays to pay for their own honeymoon. Unless the vouchers asked for are for Thomas Cook Grin

HermioneWeasley · 22/02/2014 19:16

Worra, I am loving your suggestions!

Pipbin · 22/02/2014 19:19

I went to married.co.uk and all I could see was a definition of getting married and a penguin bollard advert at the bottom!!!!

Did the invites come on recycled paper.
