To wonder why no one seems bothered by links to labour MPs + paedophile rights organisation?

The Mail has published new claims about Harriet Harman, Jack Dromey and Patricia Hewitt supporting The paedophile information exchange. Thought it was a rehash of an old story, but I've looked at the evidence published, and it looks as if harriet etc do have some explaining to do. I won't link to the Mail, but the Guardian gives a more nuanced point of view here

What I'm finding puzzling is twitter is not bothered! And I haven't seen anything on mumsnet. Isn't anyone bothered? No wonder jimmy Saville et al got away with their actions. I am a labour voter myself, so I'm not trying to be partisan and stir up trouble, but the silence on this disturbs me.

i find it so hard to sieve them through the bile though. i prefer my facts sans titillation and misogyny.

I notice that a lot of the picture captions say NCCL executive without putting dates on.

nennypops · 01/03/2014 12:47

Lazyjaney, you really haven't been following the thread if you think that nauticant and HoneyBadger have only just started looking at the facts.

And when you have to resort to overt personal abuse, it's you who has lost the argument.

nennypops · 01/03/2014 12:48

If you like facts, read that Daily Mail article.

Really, the very last place to look for reliable facts is a Daily Mail article. Particularly one with such a blatant agenda.

Lazyjaney · 01/03/2014 13:06

I take it you didn't see Honey ask about when HH started at NCCL a page back then. Or do you just come on to argue every so often without reading the thread?

TheHoneyBadger · 01/03/2014 13:57

lazyjane what are you on about?

perhaps your communications would be clearer if they weren't dripping with nasty personal abuse. much like the dm i guess.

falaaalaaa · 01/03/2014 14:17

I know this is AIBU, but can we just step round the sweary and abusive posts, and continue the measured discussion? Don't rise to the bait, people.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/03/2014 14:21

ah so swear words reduce credibility, publishing sexualised images of children does not. got it.

nennypops · 01/03/2014 14:21

Lazyjaney, why do you feel impelled to make gratuitous personal attacks all the time? Honey asked about the date when HH began working at NCCL because it is highly relevant that she is being criticised about something that happened three years before she joined them. However, rather than dealing with that point, you choose to go in for more personal attacks. Can you see why your arguments don't really appear very convincing?

falaaalaaa · 01/03/2014 14:46

The sun's shining outside...

stooshe · 01/03/2014 15:19

This Thread... "ark at all the revisionists with their "the 70's was a different time" bullshit. No, you too much time on your hands pillocks...the seventies and the eighties were NOT times when noncing (Yes NONCING) was ever seen as something to aspire too. People might couldn't pronounce the word PAEDOPHILIA, but the action was condemned amongst the great unwashed (most of whom were not angling as to further themselves up the greasy pole of politics a la HARMAN and her ilk).

Also the "right on" mob on here who take offence that females do not like Harriet Harman because she is down with the wimminz? Please ( stage left - spectacular eye roll)! She only likes women if they act according to her narrative. She's my local M.P and she is a patronising bitch. But thanks for being pro female, Harriet (like that is something that she should be given extra plaudits about, considering that she IS a woman, but anywho, who am I to state that?)
The Harman defenders need to wrap their heads around the fact that Harman knew what PIE was and it they stood for. Harman is not thick. So to give it the "she was but a lowly clerk within the NCCL" as if she never had a functioning moral compass is VERY disingenuous.

Harman made a decision to lay the foundations of her political career by using an organisation to help her. She didn't give a damn that PIE was affiliated to the NCCL. She probably thought that the Gays would have to deal with them should history drag up PIE and the "political, sexual climate" that a lot of "learned" people were gassing about that allowed the organisation to affiliate itself with the NCCL.

Now that she has drug out the now retired from politics Patricia Hewitt to apologise for her affiliation to the NCCL and its acceptance of PIE (like that means anything as Hewitt has no political career to protect), Harman thinks that this will all go away. Talk about having principles over the wrong thing! Her revenge tweeting of that picture of young females to prove a point about the Daily Mail shows that she has the same disposition as Tony Blair. SHE more than any "paediatrician as Paedophile" member of the great unwashed public has a "I'm always right" persona that people with a smidgen of discernment can spot. Hence a lot of females (and males) hating her, even though they are meant to be "grateful" for her deigning to get her hands dirty with the wimminz issues. (Thank you, Jesus!).

As a labour supporter who has witnessed this woman in action (Harman the supposed "better woman" who never raised an eyebrow when her troll of a husband was helicoptered into a labour safe seat - ahem!) I would love if Harman resigned. I am sure that she politically masturbates that the area that she is M.P for is full of poverty and lack of ambition. She knows that she doesn't even have to do much to stay in power. Harman is a user and a liar. That she shakes a few crumbs downwards from on high shouldn't distract people from the fact that she will use anything to stay in power.

Outstanding post Stooshe

TheHoneyBadger · 01/03/2014 15:27

ahh see there's someone who knows how to avoid the nonsense of facts! who needs facts - let's just use words like 'bitch' and assert psychic knowledge of motivations and don't forget to throw in 'moral compass' at least once.

if you tidied up your grammar marginally you too could have a career with the DM.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/03/2014 15:28

'i don't like 'er', 'she's a bitch', blah blah 'moral compass'. yeah. outstanding that.

caruthers · 01/03/2014 15:30

Good post stooshe!

Viviennemary · 01/03/2014 15:43

Don't like him because he's a ginger rodent. Yes right ok. that's fine. Hmm

falaaalaaa · 01/03/2014 15:53

Good point, Viviennemary.

Scaredycat3000 · 01/03/2014 16:53

What a disappointment. This is why I rarely venture into AIBU, the thing I love about MN is that it is full of intelligence, facts and humour. I was hoping to get a greater understanding of the full situation. Instead after a few pages of reasoned discussion and sharing of facts this turned into a bun fight, based on people failing to properly read and understand each others posts, as usual.

falaaalaaa · 01/03/2014 17:46

We're trying to claw it back, ScaredyCat! There are some great links on this thread, have a look at them. Ignore the last dozen or so posts.

Front page of tomorrow's Sunday People

"Filthy Cash - Home Office handed £70,000 of your money handed to paedophile group"

Unsubstantiated claim by whistleblower about cash given to PIE by Labour government before Thatcher and continued by Thatcher's government during first term, it seems, listening to Sky Press Review comments

claig · 01/03/2014 23:00

The Mirror article is just staggering.

"More than a million people signed a petition demanding PIE’s child-sex campaign be banned – but it never was."

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/paedophile-information-exchange-taxpayers-cash-3197625

falaaalaaa · 02/03/2014 00:32

"PIE members continued to build their underground network despite police probes.

Many became powerful in social work, teaching and even the criminal justice system and thousands of vulnerable kids were traumatised as a result."

From the Mirror report.

I don't know if people can grasp the import of this.

nennypops · 02/03/2014 00:49

Hmmm, it'll be interesting to see if the Mail continues to be as vociferous about this now the focus is moving to Thatcher's government.
