I wouldn't even notice

I have a teenager who has never ever worn a coat. I'd just assume it was by choice .

Haha same Laurie - apparently this means I'm not a common decent person!

FayeKorgasm · 20/02/2014 18:28

Yes I would.

When I was 15, I was waiting at the bus stop to go home from school. It was snowing and the buses were running very late. As a typical 15 year old, I wasn't really dressed for the conditions, despite my mother trying to get me to wear a warm coat. A man, I would say in his 30's insisted I wore his coat until the bus came. He wasn't inappropriate in any way, just a kind man. I haven't forgotten this act of kindness even 30 years later.

I am a bit more sensible now Grin

The video/story is now on Mail online.

What's surprising to me, is how many people seemed to just be wearing a sleeveless top underneath their coat! In Norway.

I've got 4 layers on inside my house with the heating on.

curiousgeorgie · 21/02/2014 12:20

This made me cry too...

I'd like to think I'd give my coat, I love the guy at the end who was sitting there sleeveless, amazing.

trixymalixy · 21/02/2014 12:21

I once offered my scarf to a child who was shivering and saying she was cold. I got daggers from the mother for my trouble. I guess she thought I was judging/interfering, but it was a genuine offer to help.

squoosh · 21/02/2014 12:22

I still fancy Man with Skis. I might hang around bus stops in Norway looking woebegone and shivery hoping he'll come along.

Quinteszilla · 21/02/2014 21:04

Sunbathe, Norwegian homes are very warm inside. They are very well insulated. Most people I know keep the thermostat to around 24-26 degrees....

I would give my coat to a child if I lived in Oslo, but I've never really heard of anyone freezing to death in East London...

Ledare · 21/02/2014 21:27

Thanks for this Quint. Great message.

And for which was hilarious Grin

Dwingles · 21/02/2014 21:29

Of course I would.

Honestly, who wouldnt??

Dwingles · 21/02/2014 21:29

(Besides those with SN who might not recognise the situation)

Ledare · 21/02/2014 21:30

I haven't forgiven you for, "what does the fox say?" however.

serenshiningstar · 21/02/2014 21:32

"Who wouldn't?"

Me - sorry.

trampstamp · 21/02/2014 21:37

No however I would ask the fuck were his parents and why the hell he was out without a coat

Saw a boy when it was snowing last year standing outside the betting shop with no coat I reported it to the school as he wasn't wearing a cost could see the uniform

Ledare · 21/02/2014 21:39

But they were waiting for a bus. Presumably the people who "gave" them wanted their coat back when it turned up.

Interesting how many people had fleeces or jackets under their coats and offered those.

Ledare · 21/02/2014 21:55

Good for you, trampstamp. Hope he got appropriate help.

Johannes says he is waiting for his teacher and his coat was stolen.
