bought my four shoes from startrite for school in September. cost between £40 and £45 each pair. two of the girls shoes have holes in the heels.

I am right to take them back with the receipt aren't I? I expected them to last the year for that money unless they were outgrown....

damn my children and their narrow feet!

I took ds shoes back a few weeks ago as they had come unstitched at the toe. He had them since september. Very good service in Clarks. They swapped them for a new pair, not the same style but that didn't matter. And they gave us a £3 voucher as the new shoes were £3 less than the old ones.

update.

the owner agrees the wear is unacceptable. two new pairs have been ordered as replacements. the old shoes will then be sent back to start rite for their consideration.

so it was worth asking! BTW I took them to the reheeling place and they said they couldn't repair them.

I've just had to buy DS2 new shoes. His pair bought in September at a cost of £55 had worn down heels. I wad pleased they had lasted this long! He usually has to have new every 3 months due to heel wear!
