McDonalds in the gym - any excuses?!

I'm waiting for a class to start (yes, I could be warming up on a treadmill but I'm sat on my arse on mn, I admit that!) and there's a guy and his little kid sitting outside the spin studio eating a full Mcdonalds takeaway meal.

I'm trying to think of a valid excuse for such poor etiquette and un-gym like behaviour but failing miserably. Anybody got one? Maybe they're waiting for someone to come out of a class but the smell is horrendous - surely they could have dinner somewhere more appropriate.

There are bigger problems in the world, it's not the crime of the century, I do have other things to think about, I should remove my judgey pants etc etc ... but all that beind said, AIBU to think that a gym should be free of smelly, greasy fast food?

(especially when it is McDonalds which hardly qualifies as food and should be removed from the world at large - just in my totally unbiased, food phobic opinion that is! Wink And of course, the general public should pander to my every whim Grin)

Our local pool has childrens parties in the hall outside the gym door.

It's bring your own food, so it's anything from party rings and cup cakes to older DCs sending out an order for 24 portions of fish and chips.

Yeah the usual gym/pool kids party food is much shittier than what you get in McDonalds.

I can leave the hideous smell waves that are blowing calories into my blood stream by osmosis safely behind

Yikes, OP. I know that's a "joke" but I read it and thought "eating disorder" (sadly have close experience of these types of signs).

I know also this is meant to be a "lighthearted" post but something smells funny, and it isn't the McDonalds.

Days with little kids are complicated- maybe there was only just time to get the kid a Maccy Ds before handing it over to mummy after the spin class while dad rushed off somewhere else? Not a big deal. I am a little concerned for you that it intruded on your consciousness so much.

Really sorry if this comes across wrong.

Oh and YANBU. I wouldn't want to smell that crap at my gym either.

I agree with step that this could be to do with how generally speaking people are almost obsessed with eating food all the time. No wonder so many people here are overweight.

Then again some people just don't get etiquette at all.
