And wonder why their activities tend to attract faint derision, from people that probably include the men people who spend hours playing similar fantasy games on line?

Anyone looking to re-enact? Kentwell Hall in Suffolk is currently recruiting for Tudor/Victorian re-enactors. No age limit in either direction, and all welcome!

I do medieval, roman and home front re enactment (But not SK!) - it's wonderful! I enjoy teaching people about the past, and so many of them have no idea at all. When our son was small he came with us, and it was a great way for him as a confidence builder. And, it's the best thing in the world when all your visitors have gone home, and you have a whole castle to play in! People can be sneery, but I think it's because we have a passion and an interest, and that's something so many don't have

I once worked with a girl who had a Sealed Knot wedding. She had made the most beautiful period dresses, and virtually all the guests were in costume too. It looked amazing!
