To not point this out to dd's teacher?

Dd in reception. They have been learning about their bodies and a big poster has gone up on the wall about eyes. It says "Eye's have.... Eyelashes, eyebrows etc" and "Eye's can... Blink, cry etc".

I am a major apostrophe pedant and it makes me cringe every time I look at it. On the other hand, dd is just starting to read and has no idea what an apostrophe is, never mind how you should use it, and I think me mentioning it to the teacher might be very twattish.

The teacher is great and very experienced, ds was also in her class and I have never spotted a mistake like this before. They've had a couple of supply teachers recently so I'm hoping one of them did it and the teacher hates it as much as I do but doesn't want to go to the effort of changing the poster!

An ex colleague of mine taught children to put an apostrophe in when pluralising a noun.
She had to rip out 30 pages of "There were six cat's in the garden." etc.

I had some announcements put in our parent bulletin this week. I was horrified to see apostrophes in the plural words. A quick check back on the email I original sent to admin shows they weren't there at that point- to any of the hundreds of parents who are going to complain to school about my awful punctuation- it wasn't me! Smile.

Definitely Tipp-ex or white sticker it, guerrilla style. I'm a spelling/punctuation pedant too, this would bug me to distraction!

This would upset me every time I saw it. It's a tricky one - I was generally very happy with DD's primary school but occasionally there were things that would annoy me and I would let them go because a) I didn't want to undermine the teachers, who I thought were mostly doing a good job b) I didn't want to antagonise the teachers and get a reputation as a pain-in-the-arse.

It can be very galling to have one's mistakes pointed out. On the other hand..."Eye's have"?

OP, let the teacher know.

On another note, my eyes itch every time I see someone has written could of, should of, would of. ARGH!

It is could have - could've
should have - should've
would have - would've

OF doesn't replace 've people!
