Exactly. Carry the umbrella. Don't let the man do everything for you. Wear flats. I can just see the advert pitch now. We've got a tall woman who can't find a date. She also is incapable of carrying umbrellas or checking heights. A lone female voice is heard complaining but the advertising executives ignore her.

Men are all 5'10" or over 6 foot. There's quite a range in where I come up to on these 5'10" men though...

I like it (am 5ft 10). Men lie about their height. I am self conscious about my height sometimes - but I find flat shoes frumpy (on a date anyway)!

The thing is, if you are paying attention, you will see when she is sitting in the car, it is a later date. Different hairstyle, different clothes. The ending is they obviously got on and are sharing time together in the car. Jeez, it ain't that difficult

Men ALL lie about their height.

I'm 5ft 6, so not that tall, although I do have a thing for 4-5inch heels . Most dates I've had have ended up being shorter than me in heels, some shorter than me WITHOUT heels!

The only bloke I've ever been on a date with who didn't lie about his height was 6ft 5. In fact, he's the only man I've ever dated over 6ft. I attract the short ones.

I like the advert! I get the impression men lie about their height a lot, which is daft really - bound to be found out in the end.

As a man who has done some online dating I'd like to confirm I lied about my height. I am 6'4" and lopped a couple of inches off as my sister demonstrated that in spite of having no maximum, she had specified 6' 2" as a max. in her search.

RegTheMonkey - The height difference need not be a problem, my daughter is the same height as you and her partner is 6' 5".

How old is too old? Some men like an older woman:)
