DD is at school, DS is at nursery. I have a stinking cold which has gone straight to my head.

So, after the school/nursery run, I made tea, put on crap tv and parked my bum on the sofa. I leave at 2pm to do the pick-up, a hours trip walking which should count as some exercise shouldn't it? and then dinner/bath etc.

Feeling guilty, even though nowt needs doing!!

Yanbu, enjoy it. Feel betterSmile

LucyLasticBand · 03/02/2014 13:01

have a duvet day, you deserve it.

FrequentFlyerRandomDent · 03/02/2014 13:01

Doctors orders actually.

Every GP I ever went to see with a cold, said: "make yourself some tea and rest".

EatDessertFirst · 03/02/2014 13:02

Thank you wise MNers. I knew I could count on you guys!! X

I'm not ill but doing the same. Need to pop to shops but really cba!

MyNameIsKenAdams · 03/02/2014 13:04

That sounds amazing!

Dd is off to nursery in a yea and I am so looking forward to the odd afrernoon spent prone.

EatDessertFirst · 03/02/2014 13:09

KenAdams my DS started nursery part time at the beginning of January so this "time to myself" is a revelation! You are going to love it however you choose to spend it!

I do religiously do the chores while the sproglets are out of the house and I work most weekends as well so this few hours has been welcome, even though I feel naughty! X

Snap. No kids but today is my Sunday [Sunday is my Saturday].

I've slept til 11, put a wash on, made and eaten lunch, had a coffee and two glasses of water. That's it.

Love it.

MammaTJ · 03/02/2014 13:13

I'm not ill but have only moved from the sofa to have a shower (half an hour ago) and put a machine load of washing on!

Topaz25 · 03/02/2014 13:24

YANBU. It's better to rest now when nothing needs doing than burn out and feel worse later. I hope you feel better soon.

EatDessertFirst · 03/02/2014 13:30

Thank you Topaz25.

I'm feeling better already hearing about all you other lazybones Grin.

I think you should be in bed and asleep, but it's prob too late to get a decent kip now.

FunkyBoldRibena · 03/02/2014 13:34

I know I have to go to the shed later and get a box of screws. That means getting dressed. Pah!

morethanpotatoprints · 03/02/2014 13:38

funky
I'd just put boots and coat on top of pjs Grin

TalisaMaegyr · 03/02/2014 13:42

You don't have to get dressed for that Ribena!

I'm having a similar day today. DS was dreaming we went on holiday for a year when I woke him this morning Sad I felt so sorry for him, and get to spend so little one-to-one time with him, I've given him a hooky day off school Grin

We have literally spent all day under the duvet on the sofa, watching crap telly and eating. Ace Grin

Gruntfuttock · 03/02/2014 13:44

Sitting on your backside is a lot easier than sitting on someone else's. Trust me, I speak from bitter experience.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 03/02/2014 13:57

YANBU. I'm doing exactly that, AND I'm getting paid for it.

FunkyBoldRibena · 03/02/2014 13:58

Oh no I do...our shed is out the back gate, along a path, turn left down another path and then through a gate into our 'allotment style' garden...our main gardens are all plots split up when these houses were sold off in the 50s as they used to be owned by a local merchant.

FunkyBoldRibena · 03/02/2014 16:22

Ok, so I watched an episode of Voyager. Then put a pair of joggers on. Made a coffee. Then watched an episode of Next Gen. Then put a top on. then went to shed, got screws, got sandpaper and am back in. Contemplating making a curry for tea. Meh.

HadABadDay2014 · 03/02/2014 17:53

It's not like you have anything else to do.

Sit back and enjoy the peace.

itsbetterthanabox · 03/02/2014 18:05

I don't understand why you would feel guilty?

Amrapaali · 03/02/2014 18:13

Pffft! Amateur... I have been known to waste a whole day doing nothing. Drop DD off at 9, come school pick up, I have "pottered" done bugger all the whole day.

3 hours?! Woman, you have some catching up to do to join the ranks of the exalted loafers like me. Smile

nouvellevag · 03/02/2014 19:28

Sod it, I fairly regularly park my arse for the whole morning that DD is at nursery and I don't even have a cold. If nothing particularly needs doing, there's no kind of moral imperative to bustle around for the sake of it. I'm up in the night with DD, I work some evenings and weekends, I make everyone's dinner and I'm the only one to ever wield a bloody loo brush in this house, so I refuse to feel bad about spending time on the sofa when I have the chance!

EatDessertFirst · 03/02/2014 20:53

Thank you muchly for all your replies. From this day forth I will truly embrace my couch potato side WITHOUT the guilt! Xxx

I've been signed off work the past 2 weeks and have done absolutely nothing. Possibly less than nothing as I've no doubt created more work.

The Dr was adamant that I had to sit and do nothing whilst I get better. So I'm taking her advice from 9-3 every day. Thank god for Sky boxsets.
