Would i be vile to put my hoover through the dishwasher.

I am really thinking of doing this.

It need descaling any way, which i would do after but would it break the bin part and will i decontaminate the dishwasher.

Perhaps it really really needs cleaning?

When DS was 3 he "cleaned" out the toilet with my hoover after he'd poo'ed....my hoover really really needed cleaning then! but perhaps not in a dishwasher

I have been known to put glass light shades through the dishwasher, also manky vases. It's a good idea!

I think the plastic could become brittle. It may be better to soak the parts in the sink or bath with a couple of dish washer tabs. I wouldn't be too fussy about scrubbing the nooks and crannies as they will get grubby as soon as you use it.

It looks like the same sort of plastic as the salad box in the fridge, and that's fine in the dishwasher.

I don't get why people have such a problem with stuff going in the dishwasher. It's washes and sterilises stuff, that means it's clean. I put anything in that I can, animals bowls, oven parts, fridge parts, hairbrushes, toys and occasionally crockery

I've put hair brushes in the dishwasher. I did try and get every single hair out of them first

They thought it would amuse me. It certainly made an impression on me, as I haven't managed to forget it.

At least they didn't have dishes and cutlery in there at the same time.
