I'm minding my dns tonight. My db and SIL very rarely have a night out and have left 15 mins ago. Both Dns are playing happily but the oldest (4) has just told me his tummy hurts. I asked him if he needed a poo and he said no and that he was going to lie down for a min.

He doesn't feel warm and isn't in bad form, he's happily watching Peppa pig and chatting to his brother.

Should I text my db and tell them or leave it in these circumstances as he's in good form? What would you like to happen of it was your dcs?

Please no flames an Sorry for being silly I've just never been in this situation before!

Do u think perhaps he's maybe just missing his parents seeing they don't go out much ?

WorraLiberty · 01/02/2014 19:49

Nooooo I wouldn't.

Parents go for a rare night out and 4yr old develops a tummy ache 15 minutes after they get out the door.

I'm sure he'll settle down soon enough Grin

Annunziata · 01/02/2014 19:49

I'd say its just nerves, I wouldn't bother.

Justnapping · 01/02/2014 19:49

Leave it just now as he's happy and see how he is in 30 mins. Hopefully he'll be fine!

Friendsupport · 01/02/2014 19:49

There's nothing to tell yet so leave them be. He might just be missing them.

MisForMumNotMaid · 01/02/2014 19:50

Tummy worries and anxiety can often go hand in hand. If he's not hot and is chatting happily enough I'd leave it and see how he is in an hour.

Is your DB within an easy distance if sickness does follow?

Perhaps an "ooooh, who wants ice cream?" Will sort this out?

lilyloo · 01/02/2014 19:53

I agree with everyone else , think its anxiety about mum and dad going. See how he goes hopefully will settle down for bed soon.

Catsize · 01/02/2014 19:54

Sorry, but really??? Is this a serious question??

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 01/02/2014 19:55

If he's distractable he's very likely to be fine, just a bit anxious.

Find something fun to do and keep him busy until bedtime.

BumPotato · 01/02/2014 19:56

It's probably just a fart rearranging itself before exit.

Unless he starts throwing up do not text.

YY to ice cream/smarties, though you may have trouble settling him after.

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 01/02/2014 19:57

Yes catsize it is a serious question Confused

No, I wouldn't. There's not much to tell them yet...let them enjoy their night out. And as pp has said he might just be saying it because he's missing them and wants them to come home. My DS has tried similar tricks before! But keep an eye on him and give him some attention...maybe a warm water bottle if he's having a lie down? If it does seem like he's not feeling great take him to bed. But chances are he's just a bit anxious about his parents going out.

sittingbythepoolwithenzo · 01/02/2014 20:02

If it's really serious, he'll either throw up, be obviously ill (high temperature etc), or be absolutely doubled up.

I wouldn't call them if he's playing ok.

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 01/02/2014 20:08

Thank you all :) he seems to have settled down now playing cars with his brother. Thanks again :)

I bet he is missing his mum. My son was always very home sick and would vomit etc . Give him lots of cuddles . And then some more Wink

monkeynuts123 · 01/02/2014 21:20

Lucky your brother for having such a considerate and kind sister

MoveYourArmsLikeHenry · 01/02/2014 23:05
