I know this may seem really petty but please Bear with me I genuinely need help! My boss received a lovely designer silver chunky bracelet for Xmas with a big silver ball on it we sit in quite a small office and every time she answers the phone, types, places her hand on her desk it makes the most horrendous sound it constantly hits and scrapes across the desk and I've tuned in and cannot tune out,, I literally still have an headache from listening to it.. So if you were me would you say something or just keep quit? What do I say?. Also is there anything your maanger does that REALLY irritates you?

You must be pretty bored at work to notice something like that Confused if it bothers you that much, then feign concern for the preservation of her jewellery.

I was plagued by a very very noisy typist. It sounded like he was hitting the keys with a fucking hammer. I wanted to actually kill him.

I used earplugs and was totally upfront about why. They moved him.

Zizzo - this is the thing I am so busy I can't get anything done !! I'm concentrating on the noise so much cos I'm so tuned into it!

defo just mention it to her then, in a nice way.

I empathise. I'm in a high pressure job and have to produce reports and assessments in very little time, and the young woman in the same room has a repertoire of incredibly annoying noises - tapping pen on desk, tapping pen on teeth, rocking backwards and forwards in her chair producing squeak-squeak-squeak......Aaaaargh! It destroys my concentration - I literally cannot think!

I know I am sensitive to annoying noises but I honestly can't help it and it's a bloody disability in a busy open plan office!

I sympathise to a degree - that's an easy win so just go with it.

On the other hand higher pitched noises in the office are harder to ignore. Women tend to have higher pitched voices...

I've been told more than once I need to quieten down and I know I'm not loud, just vociferous whilst female.

Back to OP - you sound awfully precious tbh. If you were in a call centre you'd have to toughen up. I don't know what you or your boss do, which could of course influencen my response, but my initial thought is you need to block it out and focus on your own deliverables.
