AIBU to be so bloody annoyed?

Arghhh!!!!!! Sorry for the ranty post (that just autocorrected to randy, lol) but I have endured yet ANOTHER night of my neighbours dog BARKING CONSTANTLY. They moved in about two months ago and every time they go to work/go out/go to sleep presumably, their dog barks and barks and barks. It's obviously distressed by being left alone and they must hear it when they're in the house - I can't understand how they can just leave it.
I feel guilty for being annoyed but at the same time it's getting to be a constant disturbance.

RSPCA?

I've had this when working from home and it's driven me insane. From 08:00 until 18:00, absolutely constant. I kept wishing really horrible things, like 'I wish you'd get run over, you stupid f**king dog' when it's not the dog's fault at all, my nerves were so frazzled... as occasionally there would be 3-5 minutes of calm, and I'd start to relax, and then it would start again. I sympathise as it's hell.

My old neighbours were rather abusive (Police called on numerous occasions for domestic incidents, swearing in front of very young kids etc) so I took the cowards way out and just informed the council as I really didn't want to get involved. The council contacted me and sent them a letter - turns out it's the 3rd letter they had had, so it wasn't just me who had complained.

They'll ask you to keep a diary, so it may be worth starting that now if that's the route you want to go down?

It sounds like the dog has separation anxiety, poor thing.

Try Environmental Health at the local council - as PP said, they'll send a letter first and ask you to keep a diary. If they still have one, they might ask the dog warden to go round and offer practical help.

Worth a shot?

Nanny0gg · 31/01/2014 09:01

Have you spoken to them about it? They may not know.

If they don't care, then ring the local dog warden about it.

Though why anyone who works full time has a dog and doesn't make arrangements for company/walking for them is beyond me.

lisac Shock Poor dog :(

SparklyPandora · 31/01/2014 10:01

Poor dog - I know - that's exactly how I feel :( I've even thought about having it here because I have a dog too, but I work from home and mine would just dash about and be too excited. I'd have two barking then, lol.

Good idea re council, hadn't thought of that. I will try.

Thank you for the replies x

Second environmental health. It wont be instant though so do it now and get the ball rolling. (Assuming you've spoken to them, they may not know Hmm)
