To be slightly miffed at this mum

Feel slightly p,d off at one of the mums at school.
She often asks me to bring her daughter out to her car along with my two year 2 children. she has two younger kids one aged 3 the other 9 months, plus DD in my DD's class, happy to do as no extra hassle, but last 3 times she's complained that me, my twins plus her DD are so slow to come out ( whilst she's sitting in car with her two youngest) it was pouring with rain today and the three of them were slow coming out, but I'm doing her a favour am I over sensitive?

You'd think she'd ask someone with only on hand to hold. If she complains again tell her to get her DD her-fecking-self.

BlackeyedSusan · 29/01/2014 17:01

nope.

next time remind her that she can do it herself if she thinks it is any quicker. grrr.

BumPotato · 29/01/2014 17:01

One hand to hold

Innogen · 29/01/2014 17:02

Yeah she's being a knob.

Point it out to her? 'I'm not in a rush. If you are, you should go and get your DD yourself'.

whiteblossom · 29/01/2014 17:04

no, you should have said "well you could always do it yourself" cheeky cow. You could add "starting from tomorrow [smle] "

I wouldn't bother from now on let her struggle getting the kids out and back in her car.

ChameleonCircuit · 29/01/2014 17:04

Crikey, when DS was tiny I used to ask friends to walk DD back to us in the rain or if he was asleep, but only if it was on the way back to their car and I'd return the favour at other times. And I would never dream of complaining about it. Stroppy cow!

Only1scoop · 29/01/2014 17:04

Yanbu....you are doing her a bloody favour.

IAmNotAPrincessIAmAKahleesi · 29/01/2014 17:05

YANBU

If she's not happy with the 'service' she is recieving from you then perhaps you'd be kinder to stop doing it. After all you wouldn't want to inconvienience her would you? Wink

SavoyCabbage · 29/01/2014 17:05

What! I would be gobsmacked. How entitled. I would say "I'm not doing it again as you've complained when I, doing you a favour!" But maybe next time say "no, I'm hanging round for a chat".

whiteblossom · 29/01/2014 17:05

just re read op, 3x she has complained! tell her to get of her lazy arse and pick up her own kid...I'd be fuming.

MarianneBrandon · 29/01/2014 17:06

Next time she complains tell her to get them herself. She sounds very ungrateful considering that you are helping her out. YANBU

craftynclothy · 29/01/2014 17:08

God no. Tell her to do it herself.

lookingfoxy · 29/01/2014 17:08

I wish someone would escort my ds to my warm car whilst I sat inside it instead of me havingto lug a heavy 7 mnth old around. YANBU.

Witchofthenorth · 29/01/2014 17:08

Good God...how rude Shock YANBU...tell her to get her own kids in future!

invicta · 29/01/2014 17:08

She is being unreasonable. Children can take ages to come out and some classes are notorious for always being last out. Don't make excuses for yourself - you are doing her a favour, and as someone else said, if she is in a hurry, then she can always collect her daughter.

loveandsmiles · 29/01/2014 17:08

YANBU!

I have little ones of similar ages and never ask another mum to get my DC out of school. I got them out of car today in gale force wind and pouring rain and off we went ~ wish there were mums like you at our school ~ I would be eternally grateful, not moaning.

If she wants her DC out quicker, tell her to do pick up herself. You are way too niceSmile

MarianneBrandon · 29/01/2014 17:09

craftynclothy · 29/01/2014 17:09

Oh and just realised she's complained 3x. I can understand maybe once saying "Oh they were quite slow coming out today" in a general chit chat sort of way rather than complaining but FFS, you're doing her a favour.

Let her bloody struggle getting her other kids out of the car and let her see how quick that is.

Only1scoop · 29/01/2014 17:11

Didn't realise last 3 times....misread that.
Time to say no more

AwfulMaureen · 29/01/2014 17:13

Oh what a cheeky mare she is! I am regularly given a lift home from another school mum and she loves a chat...she is one of those chatty types and I would never dream of moaning that I'm waiting for ages...if I don't like it I can always walk!

Scholes34 · 29/01/2014 17:14

I'd be sure to find someone to chat to once the DC have come out of class tomorrow and be even slower.

expatinscotland · 29/01/2014 17:18

Don't do this anymore. Next time she asks, you say, 'No. All you do is complain that I'm too slow, so you go and get your own child.'

End of. You owe this woman nothing.

Ghanagirl · 29/01/2014 17:55

Thanks mumsnetters, I'm usually quite assertive, but work in a child friendly setting 2 days a week so felt should help fellow mums but felt she was bit rude today, will "man up" and tell her that she's tad ungrateful!

OP posts:
frugalfuzzpig · 29/01/2014 17:58

Ungrateful indeed Shock

expatinscotland · 29/01/2014 18:05

Tell her you don't appreciate complaints when you were doing her a favour so from now on she gets her own child.
