WIBU to take my cat with me when I have a stressful meeting in London?

So when I have to take the train into London and make a presentation at a stressful meeting, can I just take my little cat with me?

He can sit on my lap on the train and look out the window or snooze. Then he can have adventures around Kings Cross Station whilst I have my meeting. Then we can meet in Starbucks for sandwich/whiskas before getting on the train again.

He'll probably shit on the train.

That won't help you.

AlbertHerbertHawkins · 28/01/2014 21:49

Huh?

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 28/01/2014 21:49

Naw, he'll just trot off to Buckingham Palace and scare mice...

whattoWHO · 28/01/2014 21:50

What if he follows you into the meeting and scratches the boardroom table?

DirtieBertie · 28/01/2014 21:51

Is he white? Can he sit on your lap and look sinister?

ashtrayheart · 28/01/2014 21:52

Sounds fine to me.

YouTheCat · 28/01/2014 21:52

Leave your cat at home and go here

NumTumDeDum · 28/01/2014 21:53

I have a vision of you spinning in a chair in a conference room, cat on lap Blofeld style. Go for it.

NumTumDeDum · 28/01/2014 21:53

You'll need a monacle of course.

AwfulMaureen · 28/01/2014 21:54

He will look like this

AwfulMaureen · 28/01/2014 21:55

Oh bugger. like this Grin

BillyBanter · 28/01/2014 21:55

You can't trust cats. He will quite probably be sweetness and light on the train then sabotage your meeting. Perhaps by shitting on the director's chair, perhaps by muttering 'loser' under his breath every time you open your mouth, or insisting on telling an ostensibly amusing story about your previous job which undermines your authority.

matildamatilda · 28/01/2014 21:56

Yes, there would be the added benefit of making me look a bit sinister!

My cat loves driving in general - cars, trains, tube, bus... However only when on a lead. She sits quietly on my lap, looking at people or out the window. If I put her in a carrier she freaks out and wees everywhere. Do what you think your cat would like, but wouldn't recommend taking a cat in to a meeting :P

Financeprincess · 28/01/2014 21:59

Is this another thread like the Cinderella one the other day?

Are you Dick Whittington?

If so, and the meeting is a pitch for rat catching work, then definitely take the cat. Show that Lord Mayor of London that you're tooled up and ready for the challenge.

cate16 · 28/01/2014 22:00

I sometimes think about taking my cat out with me, on a lead- like a dog :)

Note- she doesn't really like people, so this could never happen.

NorbertDentressangle · 28/01/2014 22:01

You could guarantee it would cough up a hairball in the middle of the boardroom and do that strange vomiting whilst walking backwards thing that cats do.

Oh, and it would wash its arse really loudly whilst sitting on the table in full view of everyone...slurp, slurp, squelch

bodygoingsouth · 28/01/2014 22:04

are you crookshanks?

yegodsandlittlefishes · 28/01/2014 22:11

He woul miouw at the door to be let in. Then scratch at the door to be let out but would then 'see' something across the room that no one else sees. Then he'd jump at insects on the window pane and give someone a fright. Bernard from finance would have to leave due to his allergies and he could scratch Felicyfrom HR's tights, so shevwould leave too. Yes, take the cat! If you don't want him in your meeting, hire him out to work the room in someone else's. :)

AryaOfHouseSnark · 28/01/2014 22:14

Will he be wearing boots ?
I have seen a cat on a lead on the tube, it had a tartan lead that matched its owners bag, hat and coat.

Mrsmorton · 28/01/2014 22:22

Like puss in boots? Maybe you'll be mayor of London or executioner or something, can't remember the fairytale

singaporefling · 28/01/2014 22:26

Great idea! Have you seen "Inside Llewyn Davis" HE takes a cat out with him... Works a treat Grin

Financeprincess · 28/01/2014 22:27

The Marquess of Carabbas, if I remember correctly. The cat sorted it all out.

bodygoingsouth · 28/01/2014 23:01

I luffs cats!

Mordirig · 29/01/2014 01:26

There is a guy who takes his cat out on his shopping trolley round the buses here,,,, it's really not a professional look Grin
Can you not just have a strong drink/Valium to preempt any anxiety?
