so my neighbour has a 7 year old son, I have a 2 year old.....yesterday he came round with bags of clothes and trainers aged 5-6, then very ballsy asked for some money for them!!??

I was in shock because obviously my son won't fit into them for another 5 years atleast.

I never asked for these and my son is never dressed scruffy, so why would I want to buy his 2nd hand clothes???

Anyone else got really cheeky neighbours???

No shame in second hand clothes at all! It certainly doesn't mean scruffy so I think the only cheek is putting you in a position where you felt obliged to buy.

Well done for taking them back- what did he say?

I wasn't saying there's anything wrong with second hand clothes, iv had loads given I was meaning that why feel the need to bring me clothes 4 years too big, then ask for money, he wouldn't of got anything if he took them to a charity shop, and it's not like I was advertising I am in need of clothes (he knows my partner has recently moved out, so at first I thought he was being kind, then he asked for money I was like Shock my face physically dropped)

when I took them back he said "oh Shock all of them?" I said "yes thanks for the thought but I have nowhere to store them and they won't fit for another 3 years, I could put them on eBay for you?"

he just said oh ok, il just take them to the clothes recycling bin!!!! I changed subject said thanks and left.

I had a neighbour who was, by her own admission, desperate for her daughter to have a baby. When I had my ds, she used to give me loads of stuff from the charity shop she worked in. At first, I thought they were free and then it dawned on me that she expected payment. I thanked her but said that I already had loads of clothes for ds.

The worst thing was a very sick stained baby walker she wanted £20 for! I declined.
