Honestly my 2 month old DD does a poo about once or twice a day and every poo she does is like ginormous!!! It leaks out the side and up the back too!
I started with pampers but thought they were rubbish and now using boots ones but still they leak, is it the nappies or is it my daughters mega poo explosions that are too big for any nappy to cope?? I'm thinking I could double nappy her? Or get some brown tape for the edges Wink

Tesco or ASDA are fantastic. ALDI are also very good.
Pampers ok but no better than the above and twice the price.
Sainsburys were crap

FreeWee · 26/01/2014 20:12

Aldi for me too. DD's arse exploded several times a day & I was despairing till I discovered Aldi ones. Friend swears by Cheeky Bots for leaks but no good for us. I asked a lot of people & 99% said Aldi. Been very happy with them & much cheaper.

CrohnicallyFarting · 26/01/2014 21:41

Another vote for cloth here, DD was exploding with almost every poo (3 or 4 a day?), she even managed to explode out if double nappies, but I don't think I've ever had a poo leak with cloth. And it hasn't caused that much extra washing since I'm no longer having to wash all those pooey clothes (hers and mine!) and bedding.

ColdTeaAgain · 26/01/2014 22:00

Have used a combination of terrys nappies and natys for nearly 8 months, very few leakages in that time really.

Terrys by far the safest bet for containing poo!

Oh and with disposables, they always start leaking a lot more often when its time to go up a size.

Purplepoodle · 26/01/2014 22:37

Motherease one size cloth nappy and a motherease airflow wrap - can hold any poo

bebanjo · 26/01/2014 22:48

Tots bots bamboozle cloth nappies.
Bamboo dries faster than Cotten, Mine dried over night on a clothes horse.

LittleBabySqueakSqueak · 26/01/2014 22:48

Waitrose fit best on my long skinny baby.

Superking · 26/01/2014 22:50

Can't help with the nappies, but my dd was also an explosive poo-er and I could not have been without napisan for washing her clothes.

nirishma · 26/01/2014 22:56

Aldi for poo splosions but you can't beat Baby Dry for massive widdles - Aldi nappies go hard and uncomfortable really quickly if there's a big wee in there. Swings and roundabouts!

I do notice more leaks if my DH has done the last nappy change as he doesn't bother with unfurling the bits around the leg holes as another poster mentioned. He also thinks I fasten the nappy too tightly around her belly (er yes, so that she doesn't leak poo everywhere).

But then again, she saves all her pooey nappies for him :D

IneedAsockamnesty · 26/01/2014 22:59

Washable pocket style ones and I don't remember any poo explosion leeks ever when using them.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/01/2014 23:08

If you don't want to move onto washables (which I would reccomend) a waterproof cover designed to go over for eg terry nappies would help.

The problem is,you need proper elastic to contain a poo explosion, and disposable nappies just don't have that.

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight · 26/01/2014 23:22

Kiddicare just4bums
Dd is long and chunky with big widdles and poo splosions and they cope great.
Plus buy a certain amount and they deliver for free.

Yy to cloth nappies but they don't suit everyone, ds leaked and got sore when teething but he did look adorable waddling round in them the rest of the time.
Aldi I've tried, nice and cheap but go hard when widdled in

Pampers are crap
Absolutely pants
Zero rating and I've had four dc never found them any good plus there is a certain type that stink of chemicals and cause rashes.
Avoid like the plague.

I miss Huggies nappies too Sad

And have become a master of late of taking vests off downwards while keeping the poo leak rolled up in them Smile

deakymom · 27/01/2014 00:33

sainsburys have deep leg pockets (if you know what i mean?)

deakymom · 27/01/2014 00:34

i put a layer of talc in when my son does these nappies it seems to suck up some of the liquid x

washables are good too

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight · 27/01/2014 01:27

For some daft reason I thought talc had been banned

Or was I gullible twat of the week.. Shock

It may be a mess but the cloth does contain it very well Grin

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 27/01/2014 02:07

I was going to say cloth too. Never had a leak in two yearsSmile

I agree that the build of your baby makes a huge difference to which nappies work the best. Huggies were awful on my newborn (small and skinny with skinny chicken legs). Pampers only worked on e she'd porked up to about 7.5lb. Now I only use Pampers, and I found their newborn range (the ones withe the yellow line that turns blue when wet)best for dealing with squirty poo - much better than the stay dry ones she's in now.

jammiedonut · 27/01/2014 11:20

Aldi were great for my ds as they were really wide compared to pampers. I also took to buying one size up when he went through a particularly explosive period and that seemed to help.

Lj8893 · 27/01/2014 11:35

I found lidls nappies didn't leak, but the crystals popped all the time.

Currently using co-op nappies and so far, so good.

IneedAsockamnesty · 27/01/2014 13:52

Be careful with nappies where the crystals spill out lots, some children have been left with really bad injuries as a result.
