Lovely house, big garden, grandparents on hand, loads of local friends. They actually appear to live in a community which, to me, seems more unrealistic than Bubble Guppies.

Or is it incredibly bourgeois??

Peppa only gets a yoyo for Christmas and she is SO happy with that! They don't seem materialistic at all. They are not always on computers and play outside a lot.

My DD 2.9 LOVES Peppa Pig so much she quotes from it - sings the song about going off to see the queen and the bing bong song, asks me to 'go away naughty wolf' when I want to do something she doesn't like like put her to bed and even called me Mummy Pig a few times!

No one in it has more than two children do they?

SwishAndFlick · 26/01/2014 08:31

inadream Mummy Rabbit has Rebecca & Richard Rabbit and in one episode goes into hospital and has twins Robbie and Rosie Rabbit.

Wandastartup · 26/01/2014 08:39

The Zebras have Zoe and baby twins too. They do have more than 1 set of clothes too as in the episode where Peppa dyes Daddy Pigs football shirt pink with a red dress in the machine?
Also declaring encyclopaedic knowledge of Peppa here. Realised I had to go back to work after DD2 when I was watching Peppa when DD1 was at nursery!

It would be irritating being married to a man that proclaimed themselves to be "a bit of an expert" at everything though, wouldn't it?

Shaky · 26/01/2014 09:04

Even my ds says that Daddy pig is incompetent, even though he claims to be a it of an expert at most things.

FlyAwayToMalibu · 26/01/2014 09:14

Have you seen the pancake episode? Mummy pig and daddy pig are very frosty with each other there. ..underlying issues?

Echocave · 26/01/2014 09:17

Yes there are many families with multiple offspring! A pottery inspired episode featured Zoe zebra's younger siblings - zaza and zouzou..!

I think the spivvy mr fox and his van full of knock off gear is hilarious and Brian Blessed as Grampy Rabbit in his lighthouse also really makes me laugh. But I've got to agree - Miss Rabbit has a very very annoying voice!

inadreamworld · 26/01/2014 10:32

Swish and Wanda - oh yes I forgot about the twins.

My favourite episode is the one where they try to get Peppas cousin baby Alexander to sleep with hoovering and loads of noise and Daddy Pig keeps waking him up. I worry that I am starting to enjoy watching it too much......

Riddo · 26/01/2014 10:41

There's definitely something going on between Granny Pig and Grandpa Dog. I'm sure all the macho stuff between Grandpa Pig and Grandpa Dog is really about her. Grin

Misspixietrix · 26/01/2014 10:59

My favourite one is the muddy puddles one. Where Daddy pig runs out the house and jumps into the huge flood. The DCs shout me in to the Lounge whenever it's on. I clearly have no life Grin.

BettyMacdonald · 26/01/2014 11:09

What I want to know is why is it Peppa Pig, Pedro Pony, Susie Sheep etc then randomly George Pig? why not Pablo Pig or Piers Pig?

inadreamworld · 26/01/2014 11:43

Betty I think it is because Peppa is the main sibling character - her cousin pigs are called Chloe and Baby Alexander so no P names there. Although Rebecca Rabbits brother is called Richard which is another R.

Who else thinks Captain Dog may be heading for a midlife crisis in the episode when he comes back from traveling the world as a sea captain and helps his son Danny sail his boat around the duckpond? He says something (can't remember exact words) but talks about one day sailing round the world and then the next day around a duckpond.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 26/01/2014 11:49

Mummy Pig is definitely on MN. Every other episode she's "doing important work on the computer" while Daddy Pig does housework and the kids engage in constructive and creative play. Don't tell me that's a letter she's writing. She just minimises the MN window.

Bourjois · 26/01/2014 13:39

I actually love Daddy Pig and I think he is one of the most patient, understanding men ever. Especially when the kids invade his office and destroy the place. He doesn't even get sacked!

He's much maligned and put upon by his bitch of a wife and I for one would be happy to be the "other woman" (or "that fat pig" as constantly referred to by Mummy Pig.

And that, my friends, is all.
