MORNING YA BIG DRUNKEN BUM!!!

HOW'S YOUR HEAD??

(ha ha know it's cruel to shout but I couldn't resist Grin )

Cactuar · 25/01/2014 09:06

I am up and feeling absolutely fine! Have no hangover but I do really deserve one. Feeling ever so slightly Blush about my drunken outpourings of love though. Still kept me entertained on the boring bus journey home. Still think munsnetters are a lovely lot Grin

(and lol at Bumsex and skyrim)

Grin 1974rach luckily found some ibruprofen in the cupboard before I went to bed and took the advice to drink plenty of water so think that helped. Did not make it through an episode of Buffy though as predicted. Think I fell asleep before they even lost their voices.

You have inspired me with your drunken viewing choices - think I will have to dig Buffy out on the old netflix tonight! Enjoy your non-hangover day!

Hopasholic · 25/01/2014 11:41

It's ok cactuar You appear to have given me your hangover. I feel lousy. Sad

evelynj · 25/01/2014 13:47

I'm excessively drinking this eve & as I learned from mumsnet, ibuprofen wanted to market itself as a hangover prevention remedy but weren't allowed. Since learning this, 2 ibuprofen before bed & I'm right as rain in the morn. Another reason to love mumsnet :)

1974rach · 25/01/2014 16:04

I read a book ages ago and the had this thing called the BANANA recovery plan - Bath And Nurofen (ibroprofen) And No Alcohol... Works a treat on a hangover - although I would add full fat coke and salt and vinegar crisps!

Hope you are still hangover free cactuar

Hopasholic · 25/01/2014 16:24

I'm going out tonight too, so if I don't want to feel this way tomorrow, I must refrain from drinking tonight Hmm but maybe if I take ibuprofen before bed......... Smile

Dry January is officially OVER

Cactuar · 26/01/2014 01:35

Ha ha am still hhangover free but am pissed again!! Promise I am not an alcoholic just very sociable! HAve had a loveLy evening with friends who came over for lashings of prosecco and bubbles. Anyway going to try this ibuprofen thing again and will let you know if it works. Dh also wants me to tell you his hangover cure which is lucozade - he swears by it apparently

Wow. Excessive drinking really has been normalised hasn't it? Getting pissed two nights in a row and warding off a hangover with nurofen is seriously Not Good For You. I know that's very dull to hear but that hangover - that's your body telling you it can't process what you've put in to it without making you feel like shit. You need to rethink your 'social' habits Op. Like the rest of the nation.

Cactuar · 26/01/2014 01:52

To be fair I am a very nice drunk northern lurker and I barely drink at all in the week as I have to get up very early for work plus I have many weekends where I hardly drink at all so hardly think I am a problem drinker although my ability to spell is impinged by alcohol - btw love you - it is very nice that you are concerned for my health ;-) oh god I am going to be embarrassed again tomorrow aren't I?

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 26/01/2014 01:57

Yup you are going to be embarrassed Grin.
You're binge drinking you know. It really isn't good for you.

Cezella · 26/01/2014 01:58

I'm a lurker too OP but this thread has made me smile and feel all warm inside! Hope you're not too hungover in the morning (get some full fat coke and pickled onion monster munch down you)

Sleep well

Cactuar · 26/01/2014 02:24

Ah northernlurker you are lovely you are (and probably right) (that last bit in brackets should be in strike through for comedic affect if I could remember how to do it)

OP posts:
Cactuar · 26/01/2014 08:52

Right no hangover again today! There really is something to this ibuprofen thing! Ah Cezella am glad this thread has made you smile - don't have any monster munch I am afraid but do have lots of salt and vinegar crisps which also do the trick.

Thank you for the wise words northernlurker - I promise to try and cut down on the binge drinking Smile

I was so drunk on a train once (many MANY years ago, like ... the 1980s) that I was sick all down myself. I was wearing a fox fur jacket - try cleaning puke off that with a couple of tissues as train hurtles towards Reading. In my defence, I seldom drank and I'd just had a last meeting with boyfriend, during which he dumped me. Drowning my sorrows in a pub at Paddington station wasn't the best idea I ever had.

Never touched rum and coke since. On a happier note, loved OP's affectionate bus-ramblings.

Cactuar · 26/01/2014 09:33

Oldgrandmama - oh no what a nightmare! You should have sent the cleaning bill for your Fox fur to your ex-boyfriend!

Hopasholic - hope you are feeling better today and I have not managed to give you my hangover again!
