Pants on your head

FanFuckingTastic · 24/01/2014 17:42

My mate reckons that using (clean) knickers to tie her hair up while getting washed in the bath is completely reasonable.

I think she looks like a wally with pants on her head. AIBU?

Winner gets wine, must be answered immediately. (Pick me)

Completely unbiased obviously.

(Pick me)

I've used pants to tie my hair up. Very practical in the absence of a bobble. Not bonkers IMO.

GoofyIsACow · 24/01/2014 18:02

Cheers lubey Wine

FanFuckingTastic · 24/01/2014 18:08

Can't believe I lost wine. People are a bit weird.

Morgause · 24/01/2014 18:11

Perfectly normal. Oh yes. Very, very normal.

CrockedPot · 24/01/2014 18:12

I use pant sometimes, very practical!

lubeybooby · 24/01/2014 18:12

you can have the wine though just cos I'm amazing like that (and I have red lined up for later anyhow

it's the principle of the matter Wink

CrockedPot · 24/01/2014 18:13

Erm, pantS.

leezl · 24/01/2014 18:20

Wine for both parties

FanFuckingTastic · 24/01/2014 18:29

For a moment there I thought you said "Wine for both panties"

Pun paradise. Wink

I always wear thongs & have shoulder-length hair so the knicker/hair thing wouldn't work for me, although I don't object in principle as long as they were clean I have a ridiculous frilly shower hat & if that isn't available I either use a buff to make a turban with a towel.

desertmum · 24/01/2014 19:02

yabu - I do this - hair bobbles are always getting lost - knickers are always to hand - I thought it was normal.

sheriffofnottingham · 24/01/2014 20:06

Also, my mum used to wear an old (clean) pair of my dads y fronts on her head when she was decorating to keep the paint out if her hair

BettyMacdonald · 24/01/2014 21:15

Ha! Sheriff! my mum used to do exactly the same! I don't can't decorate so haven't tried this pantastic trick Grin

Ilovexmastime · 24/01/2014 21:35

Ooo, top tip... I'm off to try it now!

FanFuckingTastic · 25/01/2014 08:29

This thread really made me laugh last night, I'm going to start selling pants on ebay as the NEW hair THING!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/01/2014 10:46

My mum used to do this when she was baking (I cannot even bring myself to write this in full) but they were clean .

Then.............................................
Then.............she goes out IN THE GARDEN to hang washing out.
And SHE'S STILL GOT THEM ON

And ...................the schools are coming out and my mates are walking past the garden ( the pavement goes past the back garden)

Shoot me now, I thought. Blush

SlimJiminy · 27/01/2014 09:24

A thong can work instead of a bobble Witch - that's what I use!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 27/01/2014 09:25

Unless they are rubber incontinance pants I don't see how they keep her hair dry.

Are they?

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 27/01/2014 09:28

No, come on, a booble is something you put on a plate and then lose said plate down the back of the toilet cistern Grin

I don't have bobbles in the house because my hair is usually too short but when I can't be arsed to get it cut for ages I have been known to use pants Blush when it's hot and I need it off my neck or if it's getting in my eyes (this looks super stylish Wink)

formerbabe · 27/01/2014 10:47

Yeah I always use a clean thong as a hairband...I am always losing hair bands so I have to. I try to remember to take it off before the school run especially if it has a 'size 14' label on show!

GoofyIsACow · 27/01/2014 11:45

Bertie it was a deliberate typo for that very reason, that is one of my all time favourite threads! The bit where someone suggested taking ceiling tiles down and hanging a duvet cover from the floor above made my stomach ache so much from laughing! Grin

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 27/01/2014 11:56

Grin I'm glad someone else remembered it!

tootiredtothinkofafunnyname · 27/01/2014 11:57

My mum used to make my sister and me wear pants on our heads instead of sun hats. I was 9 at the time and it was mortifying.

Chopsticks are a much better way of holding back long hair than pants.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/01/2014 12:18

there was / is someone with nn about pants on her head, seem to recall a thread where she attended a random mnetters wedding and one of the photos was of the bride and groom and her with actual knickers on hr head... she deserved wine Grin

pianodoodle · 27/01/2014 12:24

As long as she doesn't also stick two pencils up her nose and say "wibble" :)
