Wibu to leave him at home?

Ds2 has fallen asleep after coming home from school and now I have to go out again to pick up ds1. Wibu to leave him here while I go out and get him?
I will taking a taxi and the school is close so wouldn't be more than 5-10 minutes and if I wake him up he will extremely grumpy and I will have to attempt to re dress him as he half stripped off after coming home so will be even more grumpy :( He will probably scream and cry the whole way there and back if I wake him :(

On the other hand if he stays here I can go, pick up ds1 and be back calmly and in a matter of minutes while he sleeps peacefully in my bed :D

Wibu? plus it's freezing and pissing it down with rain so he will get wet and cold too :(

How old is ds1? Could you not have sent the taxi for him and stayed with ds2?

extremepie · 24/01/2014 18:30

Ds1 is 7 next week so could have done this (I have actually tried it before) but the school only uses certain companies that have a contract with the council and it has be pre arranged so they won't let me :(

Phew, OP, great you didn't leave him. Way too young.

Witchofthenorth · 24/01/2014 18:39

I feel for you OP, but you know you made the right decision, even with the shit storm that followed...i know how tempting it can be though :(

My DS was 9 the first time he was left alone, he was awake & it was for about 15 minutes. I know it's a pain but you're going to have to take him with you. Unlikely anything dreadful would happen (he's not a toddler) but he's be so upset to find you gone if he woke up.

Glad you did the right thing Smile

When I tried to do this once (with a teenager) the taxi company told me that all under 16s had to be accompanied by an adult. Madness that a 15 year old can't travel unaccompanied...

What a strange person. Considering leaving a 5 year old home alone to avoid a tantrum... .... Sometimes I wonder how common sense became so rare.!

extremepie · 24/01/2014 22:14

Tbf an autistic meltdown is not the same thing as a 'tantrum', plus I did say that I wouldn't actually have left him.
