To think "Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse" is quality

It's very funny, lots of piss taking about Barbie's 125 different careers and speculation as to how old she is ("She must be at least 25, remember that time she ran for president").

Am sure all the DDs see is 'Piiiinnnnnkkkkk' but I've been seduced

Ha ha!
I overheard some dialogue when DD and DS were watching - the words "Ken" and "closet" are used in the same sentence very frequently.

Bit of fun for long-suffering parents!

Thatballwasin · 23/01/2014 15:38

The sheer fabulousness of Barbie's wardrobe is about to tear a hole in the space time continuum. Some of it needs to go.

She had a buyer but the sale fell through because the clothes weren't in their original packaging Grin

It is so so funny...My DD loves it (she is 3) and I just laugh at it all. Ken and closet, yes. Grin

MTBMummy · 23/01/2014 16:00

DD loves it to - DP and I try not to giggle when she's watching it as she takes it so seriously

MuddlingMackem · 23/01/2014 16:09

DD age 7 loves it, and so does DS age 10. And much as I loathe all things Barbie, I think this series must be the exception which proves the rule. Grin

Giant head / Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the car that won't work properly are the bits that I most remember. :)

KayHarker1 · 23/01/2014 16:11

My 10 year old loves it. The theme tune is stuck in my bloody head, though.

AnneTwacky · 23/01/2014 17:30

We love it in our house. Just as well the amount of times dd wants to put it on.

minouminou · 23/01/2014 23:16

"Lahf in the Dree-ee-emm HOOUUSSE!"

Ha ha ha!

mrscumberbatch · 24/01/2014 13:32

I've been watching this today with Dd and couldn't figure out who the target audience is.

The humour is very 'knowing'. It was honestly very funny.

Is this them trying to repackage Barbie hoping for the Brony effect?

plantsitter · 24/01/2014 13:34

Yes! I think it's ace and I am not a barbie fan at all (just a pushover when the kids want to watch something! )

bunnymother · 24/01/2014 13:37

Oh my DDs love it and I loathe it - I don't find the adult humour sufficient to counter just how vacuous and superficial it is. I am praying Netflis remove it soon before I go completely mad.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 24/01/2014 13:38

Sounds good! What channel?? not sure ds will be impressed

This is an internet show? I can't find it on DVD.

MuddlingMackem · 24/01/2014 13:43

Gruntled, we the children watch it on Netflix.

spookySwitched · 24/01/2014 13:47

cfc · 24/01/2014 13:48

This is such a funny show! I put it on begrudgingly for DD and was brilliantly surprised at how 'knowing' the humour is.

So subtle and funny. Thank GOD!

HoneyDragon · 24/01/2014 13:48

I love watching it with dd, or just listening when she is watching. It's brills.

WaitMonkey · 24/01/2014 13:49

I've never heard of this. Sounds brilliant. Grin

Gruntled · 24/01/2014 15:55

No Netflix here so I might 'forget' all about it!

mummytime · 24/01/2014 16:09

Everyone in my house loves it (including 17 year old DS).

HibernoCaledonian · 24/01/2014 19:55

Gruntled - it's on

lifeinthefastlane1 · 24/01/2014 20:53

haha thought I was the only one seeing this, dd thinks its fab,at first I thought it was a piss take something like south park, rather than an actual kids show, its seriously weird! Grin

AdventColander · 24/01/2014 22:10

Didn't realise it was meant to be ironic Blush . Will watch it in a totally new light from now on!

LuciusMalfoyisSmokingHot · 24/01/2014 22:14

DD loves it, for a kids show, its quite funny.
