OP posts:
Allthequeenshorses · 23/01/2014 13:20

Reported and posted in site stuff as well. Awful. Totally disgusted at that.

MarshaBrady · 23/01/2014 13:20

God that's vile.

squoosh · 23/01/2014 13:20

Sick sad fucks, sitting in their mother's spare bedroom in their stained tracksuit bottoms, wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life, but so 'brave' on the internet. I hope karma takes a long painful chunk out of their arse.

Northumberlandlass · 23/01/2014 13:20

It's horrendous. I have no words.

LottieJenkins · 23/01/2014 13:20

I went to report them and it says message deleted in the report box but the messages are still there!! Confused

stickysausages · 23/01/2014 13:23

Done, they're gone now. But seriously!? Some people shouldn't be allowed the internet!

minouminou · 23/01/2014 13:24

Will these sickos be followed up? Their IP addresses looked up, I mean.

Topaz25 · 23/01/2014 13:25

I also reported, they've been deleted now. I hope the posters were banned. How could anyone do that? I remember when I had a miscarriage I was really upset that my GP was tactless. Comments like that would have devastated me.

PansOnFire · 23/01/2014 13:27

Done. Vile.

HauntedNoddyCar · 23/01/2014 13:27

That was 40 minutes it took to get that off there.

I wonder if there ought to be a klaxon option when something like that happens for the report to be looked at quickly. When it's clearly some fuckwit getting their jollies and there's no need to prevaricate. Big red exclamation mark on the report so MNHQ read it.

OneStepCloser · 23/01/2014 13:33

I reported those messages within minutes of them being there, I actually reported twice hoping it might flag up to HQ quicker, 40 minutes is really too long for things like that to stay up. I know noits saw them and said it was ok, for other ops it might not be. Perhaps an urgent button needed?

Armadale · 23/01/2014 13:34

Hi, I'm very glad I missed the vial comments..however, to haunted, there was a thread a few months ago (might have been up to a year) that was absolutely vile vile vile and it took about 3 hours for it to be deleted. At the time I suggested to MNHQ that we should be able to triage reporting so that anything hideous gets looked at first...MNHQ said they would bear it in mind but I never heard anything more. Please suggest it again to them, maybe it is just repetition we need to get action on this..

HauntedNoddyCar · 23/01/2014 13:39

OneStep I reported it between the first and second posts appearing so probably about the same time as you.

Armadale thanks for that bit of info. It lends weight to the case. I might put something in site stuff.

minouminou · 23/01/2014 13:40

When I looked at the thread I was expecting some tactless/sanctimonious rubbish. What I did see actually stopped my breath for a moment.

Thought the OP handled it with a lot of class.

RandyRudolf · 23/01/2014 13:44

I have just quickly looked through the thread and can't see anything vile, I think they have managed to delete such comments.
I haven't been following the thread but my heart goes out to the OP and anyone who has said horrible comments ought to be ashamed of themselves.

ChippingInWadesIn · 23/01/2014 13:44

Yes, there needs to be a third category when we are reporting - one that is URGENT to flag up ones that need to go immediately and don't require any 'looking into'.

RandyRudolf · 23/01/2014 13:46

The comments must have been bad because I've never seen such a strong reaction from MN members. This lot are pretty tough and can take about anything thrown at them most of the time!

Well done to those who reported and got the trolls deleted.

MsMarvel · 23/01/2014 13:54

Reported twice. About 20 mins ago, can't believe hey were up for so long. Definitely the worst most horrible thing I've read on these forums.

ISeeYouShiverWithAntici · 23/01/2014 14:16

I didn't see the comments but I assume they were revolting and I am so sorry for the OP of that thread that they saw them. Going on the reaction here, they must have been awful and it must have been very hurtful.

re flagging posts, I agree that it is a good idea to have a few categories, some treated as more urgent than others. Certainly a link to a petition is generally of very low priority, for example. Hopefully, and if the categories are well defined, people would choose correctly. Racist, disablist etc are perhaps slightly easier to allocate but how do you effectively grade offensiveness and stop people pressing the grade 1 nuke it now button over something that, objectively, is trivial, leaving it only for something like this-a comment that has plainly sickened all those who saw it?
