I don't know who he is and CBA to google, but similarly when everyone was lusting after Tom Cruise 10 to 20 years ago before we all knew that he was a nutcase I couldn't see the attraction of him either.

Ryan Gosling was cast in The Notebook specifically as "not handsome" which is what they were looking for for the character. Clearly they had misjudged global tides of oestrogen...

I don't get it either. I don't know why but his face makes me think of a gnocchi (or whatever the singular of that is)

I didn't get it then I saw him in that gangster film he was in and I could see the attraction. I can't remember the name of the film now but it had Sean Penn in it and the guy from The Goonies.
