.... 12 weeks pregant and whilst MS is not half as bad as it has been I am SICK and tired of people just being complete mingers in our office kitchen.

One of the bints had tuna today and drained her tuna in the sink full of everyones minging dirty dishes (despite there being a dishwasher 2 feet away) and now the whole place stinks.

Just been in to make myself a cuppa and had to come out because I was wretching.

Why do I have to work with such fucking mingers? I wouldn't like to see the state of their kitchens at home.

There are also milk lids lying all over the place, crumbs, milk on the floor, coffee on the floor, coffee granules and sugar all over the worktops.

DIRTY BASTARDS

Urgh - rant over

You carry on expecting others to clear up after themselves, as it's what any decent person would do. Don't be surprised that people won't do it though so best to just develop a thick skin and come on mumsnet to vent your spleen Wink

squoosh · 20/01/2014 15:52

I think this will resonate with people all over the land!

Emilycee · 20/01/2014 15:54

Lol! Totally agree with you on office mucky bastards! Ive had the rage about air conditioning and stuffy offices the last few weeks.

Im 29 weeks pregnant, Ive gotten over the sickness and the horrible smells but now its overheating!

dontsqueezetheteabag · 20/01/2014 15:55

I am in early so I empty the dishwasher in the morning so I can get my cup but also so it's vacant and ready for new, dirty dishes through the day.

I am glad I am not alone on this one!

Got sick of this at ours so after weeks of asking people to tidy up after themselves, we got rid of all the cutlery, plates, cups etc. now they have to bring their own and it's much more tidy suprisingly!

gordyslovesheep · 20/01/2014 15:56

hahahahaha Good Luck! I feel your pain - I work with people who can't change paper towels, empty bins, clean a microwave, cover food in a microwave, store raw and cooked food safely or throw things out - ever - even when fury

dontsqueezetheteabag · 20/01/2014 15:56

Wit that's a good idea.... (((rubbing chin))))

Why do people leave teabags in the sink that's what I want to know.

bobbywash · 20/01/2014 16:04

Whilst your not unreasonable, it's a problem with communal kitchens, it's the same here, people don't wash up their stuff, or give back the cutlery they use. (we have a fork shortage due to people nicking them).

Just kill them, it would save a lot of effort. Oh and if you're feeling sick, throw up by the tuna person, and then tell them it's their fault for leaving the residue there. Alternatively, kill them all, now.

BackforGood · 20/01/2014 16:05

YABU or naive or very inexperienced of staff kitchens to expect it, but YANBU to wish or hope for it.

It's a perennial problem the world over I'd say.

dontsqueezetheteabag · 20/01/2014 16:10

Good point Backfor

I wish people would be less minging. Smile

Someone in my office bravely decided to throw things out of the communal fridge after giving fair warning. I don't think anyone took their stuff out of it.

Her worst find was tupperware box of salad, except it wasn't. Whatever it was, was green with mould.

The microwave appeared okay at first glance but if you bent down and looked, the inside top of it was plastered with baked-on food explosions.

Luckily I never used either of them.

limitedperiodonly · 20/01/2014 16:47

One person complained that her lunchbox had been thrown in the bin - like the fridge clearer was going to risk opening anything after finding the 'salad'.

When she was told: 'Sorry, I gave you notice and that's been untouched for at least a week' she then started moaning that she was being called dirty.

Domus · 20/01/2014 16:52

Yes, I'm afraid that is an unreasonable expectation.

I have worked in several different offices in several industries with very varied colleagues demographically and it has always been a problem. That, car parking and whose turn it is to make the tea!
