Very Slow Chickenpox

My 2 daughters, 2.5 yrs and 1 years, got chicken pox about 1.5 weeks ago. The spots are in all places but they are small and are few in number. Plus they are not nasty at all.

My friend's 1.5 yr old child had it begin a couple of days before ours, and her child was covered in nasty sore looking spots.

Whilst I am feeling lucky I have been researching and everyone has something different too say - "they will have it again in the future" - "in a couple of days it will become nasty", etc.

Should I be ready for it to re-occur?

A lot of people say you can only get chicken pox once it's bullshit I've had it 3 times once as a child and twice as an adult, 3 times were all very mild also had shingles twice (very very painful)
My 3 kids have all had cp and they were covered, they had them in places you wouldn't think they could,
They may be lucky and not get them again but they could if they have been mild

Anybody can get cp more than once no matter how many spots they have.

Just consider your dc lucky they have a mild infection

1 year old is likely to get it again. Older DC less likely but possible.

Dd1 had chickenpox aged 3 and was covered in them, dd2 had them 2 weeks later aged 10 months and had, maybe, 12 spots in total. 7 yrs later neither have had cp again .

I think it's generally accepted now that it's a load of old bunkum that cp only strikes once.

Oh bugger, just realised that we have still to go through it with ds (21months). Horrible virus.

DS had chicken pox aged two with only a very few spots and then again aged four when he was covered in them. No sign since. I have had it only once, at the aged of 43 and believe me you do not want to have it at that age, I was very ill.
