AIBU to think if you are in a theater you stand up when someone wants to get past you to there seat?

Am I?

We were at the theater tonight (Lion King)

Or seats where in the middle of the row

I use walking sticks so not really steady on my feet and find it hard to manouver past peoples sitting down, plus there bags etc.

Out of 12 people to get past only 4 stood up to make it easier for me to get past

Well if you are with my mother (85) and father(90) you book the seats on the end and get mighty pissed off at people coming in later that 5 mins before and climbing over!

I go at the end and get out of the way but both my parents have limited mobility ( dad is better than mum at jumping up and down but he's more likely to fall into you as his balance is crap) you will probably also have to wait for them to find and used the walking sticks they have carefully folded and stowed for the performance....

So if you know you're in the middle of the row please get there at a decent time.

Thank you !

(and no they don't go out for the interval it's all too much , so I'd advise you to try going out the other way!)

Rant over!

OP suggest you get their earlier next time if you have to have a mid row ticket, or sacrifice the best views for easy access and go on the end (you might, if you are on stick be able to take a carer and get a specially accessible seat too)
