Have been so stupid.

We had problems with the overflow pipe in our bath so every time we ran a bath above a certain (quite shallow) height it went through the neighbour's ceiling to the point where it collapsed one night after teen dd despite being warned ran her bath too high. We got the overflow pipe fixed after that. The neighbours have since moved out though they still own the flat.

Anyway today I was knackered, started running a bath then stupidly fell asleep on the sofa with ds. Woke up 1 hour later and the tap was still running. The bath was full to the overflow bit but water hadn't gone over edges.

I've peered through the letterbox of below flat but the water would have gone into a room I can't see anyway so doesn't tell me much.

Can anyone advise, is there any way this water might NOT have gone into their flat and just gone through the overflow? Am worried sick!! I don't even know when the downstairs people will next come to pick up their mail.

Thanks for any advice.

If the overflow pipe was fixed then it should be fine.

I've fallen asleep with the bath running more than once. Blush

Even if it did I presume you have insurance? Dont beat yourself up about this as accidents do happen.

If the pipe is fixed, it should have done its job, and it sounds like it has :)

I would call the neighbours and sugget they take a look. If the place is empty it would go damp and mouldy if there is water there so to put your mind at rest call them.
