To think this hotel is a bit silly

Looking for somewhere cheap but different to stay in London

Came across this
www.roughluxe.co.uk

Takes the whole shabby chic thing a bit far, don't you think? Some of the rooms look like crime scenes. I particularly like the caption on one of the mirrors!

Off to check tripadvisor reviews

The Hoxton then? Hip but not too out there?

www.hoxtonhotels.com/rooms/

Maybe you are just a Best Western girl and there is nothing wrong with that. Smile

LynetteScavo · 16/01/2014 22:52

I actually want to stay there, just so I can report back to you all.

Although, I have no need to pay to stay at a hotel in kings cross.

(Did that sound wrong?)

Theresadogonyourballs · 16/01/2014 23:05

The Pavilion Hotel might want to think about updating their website - either that or they really do think that Eurostar still goes from Waterloo.Grin

ShuttersAndMirrors · 16/01/2014 23:11

Don't want to protest too much but I DON'T FUCKING OWN THE HOTEL!!!

If I did surely my username would be DistressedUpcycledFleaMarketShuttersAndMirrors

Hoxton is an improvement, thank you, the light room is nice, the black one with the robot pillows not so much

Also like the look of the zetter, anyone stayed there? It might be out of price range though

Mind you I think the hipsters in Hoxton might kick the shit out of me, or just point and laugh, in my Wallis mac and M&S footglove boots Blush though maybe they would think I'd out-ironied (ironeyed?) them?

OP posts:
BillyBanter · 16/01/2014 23:44

Hipsters aren't really fighters. Too busy grooming their facial furniture.

lookatmybutt · 17/01/2014 00:00

Well IS it Gilbert & George? I always wanted to hang out with those guys at least once. They always came across like your nutty, eccentric, gay uncles who say shit a lot and ply you with gin.

I thought I'd hate it, but actually I think it looks like it would be quite comfy once you got into it.

AgaPanthers · 17/01/2014 00:52

Looks a bit cramped to me.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 17/01/2014 01:31

Cuntwagon I'm from over the river too & the reference to a rough hotel in Birkenhead St made me smile too!

SamHamwidge · 17/01/2014 02:02

I quite like it! The corridors are a bit Silent Hill-esque.

Wouldn't spend ridiculous £££ to stay there though. That really is taking the piss

I'd like a look.around though

Day beds? Confused well it is Kings Cross

loveblackcats · 17/01/2014 02:19

It ain't cheap! £300 a night for the night I was looking at

loveblackcats · 17/01/2014 02:27

I love the look of it, OP, but you must be quite rich if you think £300 for a night in London is cheap

VestaCurry · 17/01/2014 04:02

It is shite

HungryHorace · 17/01/2014 04:12

For that much money in Kings Cross you'd swerve this crap and stay at the Renaissance, surely?! Or I would at least.

Far too try hard.

MrsGeorgeMichael · 17/01/2014 04:30

Grin love it!!
and love being wanktastic...so going to use that word today

MissPryde · 17/01/2014 04:52

Wow! Looks just like the hovels apartments my fellow art students rent near campus. If I want to stay in those, I just need to bring a case of cheap beer over and linger.

MadIsTheNewNormal · 17/01/2014 05:08

I think it's daft and contrived and achingly try-hard, and I say that as someone who loves that look - up to a point.

I don't think it works as a hotel. Whoever said Emperor's new clothes was spot on.
