To ask how you would eat a banana?

I got a banana case for a stocking present at Christmas. It stops your banana getting bruised in your bag.
The thing that I find weird is that it comes with a little fork. Does anyone actually eat a banana with a fork?

My 22 month old is currently obsessed with feeding them to me in broken up chunks. He likes smooshing them in my face.

superbagpuss - The Chive? I read that too in the app but the comment section is being rebuilt so I had to shout 'you are fucking kidding me!' at my phone instead.

what I love best about bananas, is that if you break a piece off, and squeeze the sides gently, it naturally breaks into three equal sized sticks.Smile Smile

DH and I have a rule, you're never to look a person in the eye when eating a banana Grin

Don't ever make eye contact with someone whilst eating a banana.

Talk. About. Awkward.

HarpyFishwifeTwat · 16/01/2014 05:09

My DH snaps a banana in half then peels both bits from the middle. Apparently it makes it easier and quicker to peel. I imagine I'd spend about 20 minutes trying to snap it. No forks involved though - just brute strength.

I bought one for ds2. Was also shocked at the tiddly fork. Which I promptly threw away.

If it is in a banana split then I suppose you would use a spoon, but other than that I have never seen anyone use cutlery to eat a banana.

I love a banana sandwich mind

You cut the banana in medium size slices put on a bowl, add a few spoons of nice powdered milk and a few spoons of nice powder chocolate and sugar if you want. Mixed it all up and enjoy.

Or you do the same with honey and oats.

Sometimes, looking someone in the eye while eating a banana can be great fun.

Bookaholic · 16/01/2014 21:14

I have vague memories of reading something, ages ago, about dinner at Buckingham Palace (no, I have no idea why I was reading it), and there a banana is served on a plate, partially peeled (presumably so it doesn't roll around too much) and is eaten with cutlery.

Maybe you have a royal banana box?

littlewhitebag · 16/01/2014 21:18

I slice my banana onto porridge then drizzle with golden syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon. I then eat it for breakfast.

Nope, no fork needed.
