To not put the cover on the duvet?

DS woke at 4.30am. After doing the rest of the housework and the weekly shop I washed all the bedding. DS refused to nap and consequently had an early evening meltdown. Then I did his bath, put him to bed, and cooked dinner.

I've put the fitted sheet on the bed and all the pillow cases but I cannot be bothered with the faff of putting the cover on the duvet single handedly.

Is there a proper medical reason why I should?

I bloody hate washing the bedding then going to bed shattered and realising I haven't put fresh bedding on :@. I have to change all ours tomorrow...after a 8 hour shift grrr

Another I will be trying your method next time!

YourMother it's actually not as sinister as I made it out to be - I had the laptop open on the table while I was cooking and DH was using it to check something. I had a certain thread of Mumsnet chat open and DH, who works in HR (it was a HR issue) took it upon himself to reply to it. I just didn't realise until later Grin

A co sleeper cot and DH in the spare room???

drawohamme · 13/01/2014 22:00

I second the duvet cover as sleeping bag technique, served me well at uni Wink

Yeah, it sounds weird now you mention it! It's been a harrowing few weeks with DS waking every hour - DH has moved to the spare room until it settles down so that he can actually function at work.

Chrohnically I have this prob so I shake it over the banisters. No help if you have no stairs tho & if your duvet's heavy you might want to weight your ankles somehow to prevent yourself from going over the top.

Spermy- I've just guffawed at your post and then your user name!

Guffawed- great word or what!

I did the 'duvet cover inside out to put it on' thing last night. Except I forgot to turn it inside out.

So now it is inside out.

Am leaving it like that.

Nothing to add about duvet issue but just had to say I love love love your username... took me right back, I loved those Anne books Grin Hester was at the top of my girls name list because of little Hester Gray.

Yanbu

I do not use a duvet cover at all. I have quite severe allergic rhinitis and have to hot wash the duvet regularly to kill house dust mites so we have two singles that I can chuck in the machine. Just saves a bit of time.
