That they FALL OVER if have the slightest weeniest dent in them? Which is inevitable by the time they get home. Who thought that one up?

Anything to save a penny

Starballbunny · 13/01/2014 17:27

So they fit in my fridge, the new shape 6pts are great. The old shape made the rail spring out the door shelf.

Diamondcassis · 13/01/2014 17:29

But don't they just topple over once they've bent a bit star. My DS has just spilt the 2nd in a week.

So they fit in the door of the ridiculously small fridges.

jacks365 · 13/01/2014 17:31

I'm with starballbunny they fit in my fridge door much better.

TheSporkforeatingkyriarchy · 13/01/2014 17:36

I would think it would be to fit more onto a shelf, but industry pressure from fridge designers may also have a part to play as well.

PMDD · 13/01/2014 17:56

My puppy loves empty milk bottles to chew

CarmonEileen · 13/01/2014 18:35

I've noticed this too Diamond, its bloody annoying if they get a tiny dint as they rock all over the place, haven't had a split one yet but am waiting for it to happen Wink

phantomnamechanger · 13/01/2014 18:53

what "new" shape/size are we talking about, I have not noticed anything different at all Hmm

mummymeister · 13/01/2014 19:08

I buy my milk in 2 pint containers. fit in the fridge better and if accidentally left out then there is less to spoil.

Diamondcassis · 13/01/2014 19:14

I get the 4 pint ones, once dented on the way home, they don't stand up unsupported til about a pint has been used. The 'plastic'(?) is thinner. I can see they squeeze in fridges better, but just wait til you have 4 pints to pop up!

Personally I like the fact that my free camera flash filters and deflectors come in thinner materials allowing me more choice of layering. Smile

fairylightsatchristmas · 13/01/2014 20:39

never mind fall over - DH managed to drop a 4pint one on the kitchen floor when unpacking the shopping and then just stood there as this lake of milk spread across the floor looking helpless Hmm The bottle just split across the seam Sad

Pixel · 13/01/2014 20:42

Well I'm glad you're pleased but the scoop I made out of a milk bottle is too bendy even for chicken pellets. Tis rubbish Sad.

WelshMaenad · 13/01/2014 22:20

I haven't noticed any difference either. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I'm crashingly unobservant.

Starballbunny · 13/01/2014 23:23

I only get milk out the fridge to pour it in tea or on cereal and put it straight back. It doesn't get chance to get dinted or fall over.

My surfaces aren't tidy enough to put a six pt. Container down.

Starballbunny · 13/01/2014 23:25

Justgettingonwithit I'll have to suggest that to DH, he bought himself a fancy remote flash for Christmas.
