One of my cats goes mad for cake. It's entirely feasible.

Personally, I only like cake mix. I think cooking it ruins it.

ForalltheSaints · 11/01/2014 20:36

The cats would only lick it and eat a small piece. You would be rumbled.

ScarletLady02 · 11/01/2014 20:46

YANBU....our lady cat eats ANYTHING

Tulip26 · 11/01/2014 20:48

I have a lovely photo of one of mine scoffing a Mr. Kipling's apple pie.

someonestolemynick · 11/01/2014 20:50

So far it's a tie...

Don't know how long I will be able to resist.

ScarletLady02 · 11/01/2014 20:55

Could you not just blame some extraordinary oven malfunction?

stealthsquiggle · 11/01/2014 20:57

My parents' cats ate an entire Christmas cake. Go for it.

someonestolemynick · 11/01/2014 20:59

scarlet..."A black whole opened up in the oven". Is that believable? Otherwise I would have to be able to produce charcoal.

stealth Can I call you as a witness?

cozietoesie · 11/01/2014 21:06

Make him a 'shape' cake - eg a letter - which involves (sadly) cutting away some of the cake and icing/whatever the rest.

stealthsquiggle · 11/01/2014 21:09

Absolutely.

Bettercallsaul1 · 11/01/2014 21:10

Go ahead - blame it on a cat burglar.

someonestolemynick · 11/01/2014 21:18

Too late, he's back :-(

In the kitchen, with the cooling cake, cooking dinner ...the bastard.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 11/01/2014 21:41

Completely unreasonable behaviour. He doesn't deserve a cake.

someonestolemynick · 11/01/2014 22:02

Maybe I should LTB...and take the cake Grin

OP posts:
Bettercallsaul1 · 11/01/2014 22:13

Good decision, OP - Let him eat bread!

CustardOmlet · 11/01/2014 22:23

My cat ate a birthday cake that had be shut in a cupboard to protect it from the cat. She also ate frozen bread. Odd cat! YANBU, blame away!

VikingLady · 11/01/2014 22:24

Or a very selective burglar? Grin

WaitMonkey · 11/01/2014 22:46

It's threads like this that make me love MN.Grin

someonestolemynick · 11/01/2014 23:08

I got as far as decorating the thing without eating the lot...where do they hand out the medals?

OP posts:
someonestolemynick · 13/01/2014 01:30

Really, really deserve that coveted mn medal. The cake made it to him and he cats still have an unblemished record [angel]

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 13/01/2014 08:30

So now he can eat one slice, duly appreciate it, and leave the rest for you and the cats?

Whoever said about shaped cakes had a good point. Trimming cakes to silly shapes results in copious amounts of "spare cake", which is my DC's favourite kind of cake Grin.

Joysmum · 13/01/2014 09:12

The sole purpose of having cats, kids or husbands is to give you somebody to blame.

YANBU
