Well they stick all these 'products' on the internet then when you ring you are 'not eligible' because any fucking reason they can think of

Oh I feel your pain. A few years ago when I was applying for a loan, I went through the whole 30min online application and then waited for someone to call me with the decision. Oh yes, they could offer me the loan but not at the APR I'd filled in the application for. Why bloody advertise it if you're not going to give it.

ashamedoverthinker · 08/01/2014 14:06

I did actually burst in to tears earlier because Barclays said a mortgage I'd seen online in a top ten didnt exist - well it did but only for people with the following....We've banked with them for years have excellent internal ratings.

I'm tired and I have invested far too much emotionally into the house I've seen. Wished I'd never seen it now.

Speak to an independent adviser. My DH is one and im quite sure hes never given a client the rage. He saves that for me. Good luck getting your lovely house!

CrapBag · 08/01/2014 16:12

Ooo that's not good. I have been looking online and have seen some great rates.

I know we can get a mortgage with our current company but its not the best rate.

I have a list of financial advisor so think I am just going to see one. As I understand it, they have access to a lot of different products anyway and can tell you then and there whether you are eligible. I know that was the case last time as we needed my benefits to be taken into account as income and they could tell us which lenders would do that.

ashamedoverthinker · 08/01/2014 16:15

Thanks vacant it was them lying websites that dont list all the criteria, then you ring the bank and they oh no computer says no your are not wearing the right colour underwear today.

Basically we have a buy to let mortgage on a small low value property. This excludes us from the government help to buy scheme and new buy schemes and some mortgages.

It's all Northern Rocks fault and them bankers - oh god the rage is comming back

Better go and cook the sausages.

ashamedoverthinker · 08/01/2014 16:17

Oh thats interresting crap re benefits as DH has accumulated a few benefits now since last time.

I thought we were 6k short and I managed to find it my juggling some stuff and checking exisiting terms etc, but then what happens...no no no.

Will anyone think of my striped carpet....

CrapBag · 08/01/2014 16:29

Nationwide accept benefits as income. Smile

ashamedoverthinker · 08/01/2014 21:18

Thanks for head up on that, I think we have to get rid of our Buy To Let property as it seems to be a sticking point for a number of products.

CrapBag · 11/01/2014 19:36

I also spoke to a mortgage advisor this week as I wasn't sure how good nationwide was compared with others and he said they certainly aren't one of the worse and advised us to stick with them when we move.

sugar4eva · 11/01/2014 20:02

Crapbag ; wd you mind telling me what companies you have seen with best deals ; we looking at mo and feel overwhelmed! Thanks .

ashamedoverthinker · 11/01/2014 23:22

Well I have been through the whole gammit of emotions re house.

Went to see house thinking we were getting certain things discounted but this turned out to apply to another house...so ok revised plans.

Thing is we need a 90% with which we have a MIP in place for. But we are still gong to struggle with deposit - getting feedback on Mon.

DH has now said the hosue is still nice but we really should wait and save more, larger deposit more products open to us.

I must confees Im so upset and I feel silly for being so, but I just keep thinking we are so close. Our last house pruchase was so easy we completed in 5 weeks.

Go to a broker and let them do the legwork. We remortgaged recently and it was (mostly) a breeze. We have a BTL too.

CrapBag · 12/01/2014 15:14

suga I went on moneysupermarket.com to get ideas and West Brom were the cheapest on whichever deals I put it. Post Office were good as were Tesco. The rest seemed to have a higher APR.

If I can't get one with West Brom or the Post Office when we move, I'll probably just stick with Nationwide.

ashamed I know that feeling when you just want to move. If we stayed here we could just keep saving but we really do need to move and I am sick of saving! I am thinking of taking what we can get for the price we can get but just make sure I am totally happy with it beforehand.

ashamedoverthinker · 13/01/2014 10:26

Ive noted a fewer of the smaller non high street lenders are offering more than the big lenders and an broke said this to me.

Its annoying though, having spoke to three brokers and three banks and done my own online searchers you can end up with very confliitng info.

DH said it didnt feel right having to grasp around and see where the gaprs were in budget - you should be comfortable to go and make purchase. He also thinks it's worth holding out for larger deposit and house.

We need to sell a property we own on buy to let mortgage with a sitting tenant - thsi has been a source of disagreement between DH and I and we had row.

We have an independent financial advisor that we see every couple of years. He has been brilliant at swooping our mortgages around for bet deals, soaring out good rate mortgages when we were skint and struggling to get one. He deals with our pnsion.

We have been with him for over 20 years. Well Roth his fee with the thousands of pounds we have saves and also the time we have saved has made it worth while.

He knows what products are on the market, what works well, etc

I would relly recommend one.

ashamedoverthinker · 13/01/2014 21:44

omg I cant stand this, its possibly back on now. Im seeing bank on Wednesday. I dont think we've had ood luck with IFA's.

I rung one who I had seen (last week) on Saturday - he hasnt returned my call so far.

A new one who I spoke to on Saturday and said he would ring back today with information has not rung either. No emails.

Whereas the women from the bank has rung me twice today with answers to questions. I think this maybe our last chance to get the all finance sorted. Then it would be selling....

I dont like all this one little bit ut I love that chuffing house so I will do it.
