To not get gilets/body warmers

We are meant to be getting some at work but I just don't get how they keep you warm.
So it's cold enough to want a big puffy body warmer but then don't you just get cold arms?
Please educate me.

I have 3 from North Face, I wear them indoors to save on heating bills.
I love them as they are light, not restricting but definitely keep me warm.

They are great if you are in and out of the car I had mine on today

as others have said, they are good if you are indoors and its cold but you don't want to put the heating on and they are also great for the spring/autumn if you are doing something active but a sweat-shirt isn't quite enough

I love my down gilet, it keeps me warm all over and has helped improve my bad circulation. It's really handy at home as you can do loads of normal stuff such as washing up, giving the DC a bath and cooking without getting wet cuffs. And you always have pockets to store useful things, such as your phone, purse, keys, glasses etc.

I with you OP. I've never seen the point in them. I've always thought the same about cardigans with 3/4 length sleeves too. If I put a cardigan on it is probably because I'm cold and that includes my arms, so why would I want something that doesn't cover all of my arm?

I love mine, I have more freedom to move when dealing with DS and can wear it when I'm cold at work without looking like a weirdo in a coat!

They hide a multitude of wobbly flesh sins.

Not sure if this counts but I live in mine over a merino jumper with wristwarmers and am always warm and think it looks good too....
