to get rid of all the chocolate that's in the house

We've had so much chocolate over the Christmas/New Year period and we still have a lot left. The thought of chocolate is turning my stomach. And that's saying something when I've been known to be a chocoholic.

It will keep you know. You don't have to eat it all in one sitting.

SPsWantsCliffInHerStocking · 02/01/2014 15:08

Why throw it?

You don't have to eat it all. My son got 8 selection boxes. They are emptied into the chocolate draw in the fridge.

PixieFairy · 02/01/2014 15:10

That's my problem - I can't help myself. Even if I do feel sick...I'm thinking the best place would be the bin or locked away with a key!

Just leave it for another time. Unless it's short dated it'll keep.

If you must get rid please don't bin good food. Donate, or just knock on next door if you can't stand having it around.

KungFuBustle · 02/01/2014 15:10

Sorry x post.

PixieFairy · 02/01/2014 15:13

Donation sounds like a great idea. Even if we do put some aside for a later date we're over run with it.

We had this problem last year with excess cheese and I binned that.

We too have no self control at time with food so it was best to be wasted by going in the bin than to be wasted by going in my gov and store on my arse and thighs.

LastingLight · 02/01/2014 15:14

PixieFairy I feel your pain... my husband took it all to work to share with his colleagues.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/01/2014 15:41

But you can freeze cheese Confused

Or turn it into a lovely cheese sauce and freeze.

Chocolate will have dates on it in months and months time won't it?

Joysmum · 02/01/2014 15:44

laurie I'm sure you can, but it's still all very fattening and requires control I often struggle to find. Having lost nearly 7 stone in weight earlier that year and even now struggling to cope with an eating disorder, I take no chances and bin stuff Wink

Justforlaughs · 02/01/2014 15:46

I thought the OP was going to be along the lines of "AIBU to get of all the chocolate in the house .... by eating it" which is my usual answer to the problem.

WorraLiberty · 02/01/2014 15:52

When you say 'we', who are you speaking for and what do they want to do with the chocolate?
