My sister who is single and on jsa had just had her handbag stolen by some lowlife. She only had £20 in there but that is over 25% of the money she receives per week.
Also been shafted by govt as in the old days she sould be retired by now.
Feeling so sad for her.

So touched by your offers. No need though as she is too proud. I will make sure she gets one. )
I will also check out freecyle and fb freebies pages. Thanks again. X

highho happy to send your sister a bag if you want. PM me. I have loads of ones I don't use .

MrsKoala · 01/01/2014 19:15

You don't have to say it was from us - you can say you picked them up for 50p in the chadger shop. Then you can spend what you would have getting her a new one on replacing the stolen or groceries and treats :)

Adeleh · 01/01/2014 20:18

YANBU. Rotten thing to happen. And I agree with the posters saying that £10 handbag is a huge deal if you're low income. She's at least lucky to have a lovely sister like you though.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 01/01/2014 21:14

Sorry, OP. I called her your friend Blush

notmyproblem · 01/01/2014 22:57

Juno, saying "sorry for being a massive arse" right before typing an entire post where you show yourself to be a massive arse is hardly an apology. Hmm And it certainly isn't an excuse for what you typed. You might as well say "sorry for letting my dog shit everywhere and not cleaning it up" right before it happens -- same useless effect.

Juno77 · 01/01/2014 23:03

Um, if you read the thread properly you'd see my actual apology. Please calm down.

I didn't say anything nasty, I was trying to find the positive.

Xoticdreamz · 01/01/2014 23:22

It is quite a violating experience. I had my bag stolen of my ds buggy a few years ago . Lovely that she has you to help out .

Thank you again for your kind offers. I had the same purse as my sister but no longer use it. I have also found a spare handbag.
I will be replacing cash too as part tvof her present.
She Is a very kind lady who used to support our mum alot when she lived with her

I hope your sister isn't too shaken, Op Thanks

Hopasholic · 02/01/2014 20:50

Has she reported it to the police OP? Crisis loans no longer exist but she could apply to her local council for a Local Assistance Loan if she is going to struggle until she gets her next payment. A crime reference number will help her application. She can apply on-line for it (well in our area it's on-line)

It is highly likely the bag itself will have been dumped close by if she's up to having a look for it?

highho1 · 02/01/2014 20:50

She was fine when I spoke to her today. Thank you x
