She and her husband should have stopped trying to conceive until I'd had the wedding? She's just told me she'll have a bump at the ceremony!!!!!!!

I chose her and the other bridesmaid because they would make a matching pair behind me. (Sadly, have no identical twin friends.) Now they won't match. She will completely ruin my day. AIBU?

When will some people realise that 'no children at the wedding' INCLUDES unborn children..? FFS!

Get her bump decorated on a wedding theme.

Bodypopper · 01/01/2014 12:33

Loving this, just clicked the link to the flowere girl dresses, oh my good God.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/01/2014 12:34

I have ordered that stunning dress for DD, who is 12. I'm ordering her an age 16, so she can wear it to her school prom in Y11.

I will pencil in my diary now to ensure that I upload photos here and, obviously, to Facebook. Would about 300 slightly different photos do, or is that not enough?

LisaMed · 01/01/2014 12:38

The flower girl dress - when will I ever learn never to click on links on Mumsnet?

solaia :o

Hey I'm fat, I'll stand in. Can I wear a purple dress? so I look like a giant quality street

Reality · 01/01/2014 12:43

Me and my sister both did this to my younger sister. I was seven months gone and she was four. We had to get the dresses remade and everything. And my spd was so bad I couldn't walk so I hobbled down the aisle behind her. Excellent fun.

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/01/2014 12:48

Giles

Can I wear green and go as the green triangle?

OP, you really haven't thought this through - you could just bin off your existing bridesmaids and recruit from MN and have a Quality Street wedding, where we all dress as different chocolates.

Totes classy, yes?

Gileswithachainsaw · 01/01/2014 12:54

Oh yes, be jut like the wedding from vicar of dinky but with sweets not tele tubbys. Fab idea!!

Heartbrokenmum73 · 01/01/2014 12:55

I vote for christmas lights on the dresses too Grin

YABVVVU to suggest that the other BM gets upduffed now - she'll be 3 months behind the other one and they won't match at all. Everyone knows that a pair that almost match but not quite looks much worse than if you style it out with an eclectic selection.

What you need to do is recruit a Benetton ad full of tall / short / old / racially diverse / wheelchair using BMs and your existing selfish cow BM can be "the pregnant one".

Alternatively just forcefed the non-pg one Greggs until she reaches the appropriate size.

GlitzAndGiggles · 01/01/2014 14:42

Sack them both. I'm a twin so we'll replace them and we're not pregnant :)

somethingchristmassy · 01/01/2014 15:14

YABU to call her a Maid of Honour. it's MATRON of honour - "Maid" is synonymous with virginity, hence an unmarried attendant is a BridesMAID. Do your research, OP.

depankrispaneven · 01/01/2014 16:05

You could get round the problem of no. 2 bridesmaid being 3 months less pregnant by getting her upduffed with twins. Might need to be a test tube pregnancy, but surely she won't object to that?

Mitchell2 · 01/01/2014 18:07

You all are laughing but I had a friend who this was a real scenario and she was actually a real bridezilla about it! One of the BM's said yes but made it clear that she was TTC and she bride agreed she could be a BM and the proceeded to bitch to me (another BM) for the whole time. For instance she was annoyed because she wanted to buy the dresses 12 months before and the BM didn't know what size she'd be. In the end the BM had her baby a few weeks before the wedding but then it turned into a big thing because she didn't want children there (even babes in arms) and she couldn't see why a 5 week old couldn't be baby sat with a bloody bottle!
