...to be a little cross at my husband for cooking dinner?

I should say upfront, that I hate NYE. It's a big swizz, and therefor I either work or stay at home.

This year my husband is working, so I'm at home. I had looked forward to a bottle of Baileys and a takeaway, when the inconsiderate bugger announces he's roasting me a poussin so I can have something nice for dinner before he goes to work. Git.

AIBU to prefer the takeaway? (Or, to eat the poussin, then order the takeaway anyway?)

How is NYE a big swizz? It is what it is. The evening before the new year. Always has been, always will be. You either choose to stay up and celebrate this or you don't. But it happens. Every year.
