To ignore pregnancy advice re posture

Few weeks off my due date, keep being told by midwife to avoid sitting back, advised to sit on gym ball when watching tv etc, sit upright on train to work...

But I don't fecking want to!

I want to slouch on my comfy sofa under a blanket mostly, as I feel so fat and uncomfortable. But now I feel guilty every time I do that

I didn't even know about these 'rules' with previous baby and she was fine (ok back to back but who knows whether that was anything to do with posture or just one of those things)

Someone tell me it's all claptrap!

My 1st baby was b2b throughout the entire pregnancy, I got the same advice you did. I used the ball a bit, but not as much as I could. Baby turned during the labour, which was only about 12 hours long from first twinges to safe delivery. I did find myself wanting to contort my body into some extremely weird positions during the labour though!

I agree babies go where they want to go.

When have you all been advised about this? Confused

I had DS 36wks and was never given any posture advice - he was b2b throughout the labour tho turned before delivery.
I didn't use my gym ball at all, tho have got it out of the attic recently as am 23wks with DS2 and do plan to use it later on in preg when I get more uncomfortable.
