This year, my dm bought out toys r us, my sil bought anything that said 1st christmas on it and so left me without the chance to buy my brand new ds anything as a keepsake or whatever. I know they mean well and honestly it has saved us alot of money as we really havent had to buy ds anything but I would have liked to get something for him other than a£4 gigglestick from m&s (although he does love it, he's only 4 months old)

Our first born was 6months at his first Christmas. We bought him one gift just to mark the occasion and have something to give him. Crazy to go overboard on babies unless it's really useful stuff that you needed anyway.

crikey ewe, you sound overwhelmed you poor thing. They obviously love DD and mean well, but they need to respect your wishes as the parent and if you say no TV/Wii, that's what happens.

OK so they have lots of money to spend - Why wont they buy a treat like a day at the zoo, cinema trip or panto tickets or comic subscription. As for the £100 Necklace for a 6yo - well, words fail me. Please act now or she WILL turn into a spoilt little princess and once she's 10, 12, 14 it will be harder to put your put down. This runaway train needs stopping now.

Some people are just crackers really.

£100 necklace for anyone is a but daft but for a child it's obscene.
