to set up a scarf amnesty in honour of all my scarfy gifts

For Christmas I have recieved 6 scarves. Six. Now all of them are nice, actually one is awful but never mind. Never mind that I already have approximately 6 but wtf am I meant to do with them all?!
Theyre nice quality and a couple expensive too but gah

what a waste of money

I love scarves and would have been delighted to receive 6 for Christmas. I received 2, one from my DC and one from my best friend. I love them both and my only problem is deciding which one of them or of the dozen or more that I already owned to wear

I have no idea what to do with them - I have a cupboard full of them, and have no idea how to do them. Occasionally I take one to work that I think works with my outfit, give it to a girl in the office, and she does it for me

Everyone buys them for me. I don't have a clue why!

I bought my mum a lovely scarf. I wish I had kept it!

I asked for scarves for Christmas too as vastly underaccessorised and feel that a nice scarf might disguise my lumpy bumpy postnatal body.

The chunkier and longer the better; they are my emotional security blanket, I am rarely seen without a scarf except during a heatwave!!

I didn't get a single scarf this year and I got an owl shaped scarf hanger, from DH, just to rub it in

I bought myself a scarf a couple of weeks ago and when taking the label off, realised my mother would love it so I wrapped it for her instead. It was lovely, and I shall stifle a sob every time I see it on her. I didn't get one sodding scarf.

And slipper boots. They are my new obsession. Is there anything more lovely in this world?

I only got one, but it is lovely and I am very fussy about scarves, I used to wear them more when i had short hair but I get too hot / feel cluttered in the neck area with them now my hair is below shoulder length. I rarely wear my hair up in winter because my ears freeze if I do. I put all my unwanted gifts spares in DD's dressing up box.

I got 5 scarves one year from my DM. She loves scarves. I have a trusted favourite which i always wear.

I ended up having to tell her i wasn't a giraffe as the following year she gave me another 2. She made some of them so i'd hate to give those away.

I did get them all out of a drawer this Christmas as she left her scarf at home. Even she was a little stunned at my collection!

* update! The scarf amnesty has been a success and 3 scarves are in their way to new mumsnet homes on Monday morning! Thanks all!
