What are yours?

Mine are to drink more water, get off my backside more often, lose weight and put in more effort into everything I do less procrastination

I am aiming too high?

Mine is a bit selfish, but I resolve to do more things for me. I seem to have given up almost everything I enjoy since having children and I have been feeling bored and unhappy with everything for a long time now. My youngest just turned two and things aren't as hectic so I feel its a good time. Joined a good gym, plan to read more (which is something I used to do almost every free minute before kids!) and start taking care of myself better eg using some of the nice body butters I got for Xmas.

TheHoHo I don't think that's selfish. I think its great to show children you have hobbies and aspirations. Well done.

For the 45th year in succession, I will be working on my weight. Again. Lost 5 stone over the past 18 months, but during Christmas and the run up to it I fell a bit off the wagon. Time to crawl back on! Also stopping alcohol from Jan 9th (day after DH's birthday) until March 17th (Paddy's Day) - I try to do that every year. I also need to get more exercise.

Thank you sparkly! I suppose there is that ingrained guilt that everything should be for the children, even if I don't fully believe it, its hard to shake!

Hope you have a wonderful 2014!

2014 seems to be the culmination of several successful resolutions.

I lost 6 stone and went from a size 20 to a size 10. Eating healthily and doing more exercise was obviously part of this.

Losing weight meant that I needed a new wardrobe, so I took the opportunity to work on my image. I now have lots of lovely clothes (that actually suit me and go together) and a fab haircut.

I also pulled my finger out career wise, and got a better job which starts on January 6th.

So most of my resolutions this year are going to revolve around keeping all this up. I haven't finalised my list yet, but I am thinking along the lines of:

  • Regular exercise: swim, power walk and yoga at least 3 times a week.
  • Eat healthily: plenty of fruit and veg, lots of lean protein, not too many carbs, lots of water.
  • Keep on top of appearance: haircut every 6 weeks, eyebrows every 8 weeks, always take make up off and moisturise before bed, choose and lay out clothes the night before.

Also a bit of a strange one, but I want to read more in Welsh. I am a fluent Welsh speaker and read lots of English books, but read very little in Welsh. This year I am going to change that.
