To think this is way over the top

My DD is 15 nearly 16. She has been going out with her boyfriend for 8 months he's 18.

He has just given her her Christmas present. A Michael Kors watch . It must have cost at least £180 odd.

I'm flabbergasted. This is such an extravagant present. It's also the latest fad ( as far as I'm concerned anyway) and next month it'll be something different.

I still think it's too much money for both of them to spend though

If you all think nearly-16 and 18 is a big age gap you'd have a field day if I told you about me and my DP's story. Xmas Grin

It would seem a little over the top for me, too, but then, maybe he's well off, or working full time and not having to pay much rent if he's living at home? Depends on that really. Sounds like he's just trying to make a nice gesture to me, try not to worry too much. Wine

The gap isn't of itself big (there's 10 years between my DH and me), but it's the fact that he's an adult and she isn't that matters more.
