Was this rude of my friend or am I just sensitive?

Had my best mate and her bf over last night. My bf had written this fake card from the dog to ds and my friend looked at it and just sneered saying "I just can't find this funny".

Yes it's naff. I know this, my boyfriend knew this but so what? if someone showed me something like that, even if I thought it was ridiculous I would feign some interest.

Am I right to think very rude and Bah Humbug.

Did you present it to her in the expectation that she would share your delight?

If so, then I'm afraid you are being a little bit U and sensitive. She's your best mate, surely you know the sort of stuff she's going to find funny/cute by now.

If she just picked it up off a table and decided to comment on it unasked, then she is being rude.

She is being rude.

But this is from someone who's husband signs a bday card to me from my stuffed toys (that he got me)Grin

I would find that nauseating, but then my DP reminded me there were reasons we make a good team, many of them being that we understand each other and share a common sense of humour.

She also told me to fuck off and stop being so judgemental

I have received a Valentine's card from my cat for the last 8 years.

Hmm. I'm of the opinion that cutesy stuff is private - I'm one of those that has a very silly nickname, and has one for DP (I shared it with my best friend of many years but regret it as I know she was just humouring me thinking it was cute - I blame the love opiates, I was just happy).

I think best to keep silly cutesy stuff as an in-family thing as other people will just give you the side-eye - that's normal. It's an in-joke really, and whats less funny than an in-joke you're not in on?
